We pick up our travelers . Meeting time is scheduled for one hour after your ship has docked at the port . Ship time and local time sometimes is different so we adjust the meeting time accordingly. If by any chance your ship arrival time changes the meeting time will remain one hour after your ship is docked . Our tour representatives are available at the port before your ship arrives . Rest assure that if you are unable to make it within the hour our representatives will be there waiting for you for up to 3 hours maximum after your ship scheduled docking time. At Isla Tropical (Mohogany Bay Port), we will pick you up 1 hour after your ship has docked. Once you disembarked your ship, you will proceed to the Main Exit gate, where your driver and guide will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name . You will walk up the concrete hill and down to the exit gate. You can also take a cab to the gate if you do not want to walk. For Coxen Hole, Port Roatan. We will pick you up 1 hour after your ship has docked or as soon as you can disembark your ship so we can beat the crowds and start with your activities . Once you have left your ship just walk past all the vendors and proceed to Exit Gate #2, where your driver and guide will be waiting for you holding a sign with our company logo RoatanBreakawayTours. For Hotel's and Airbnb's if you don't see your address listed in our pick up list , please just send by text your location and happily we will be there to pick you up at your requested time .

Our driver Klinsman was amazing, and took great care of us. The snorkeling experience was nice, however..it was literally 100 yards or less from the beach area. The reef was great, but very choppy and crowded with many other snorklers. We thought we would be taken out further into the reef. The overall experience was very nice and we very much enjoyed the beach time.

We had the pleasure of touring with Klinsman from Roatan Breakaway Tours, and he was outstanding in every way. From the moment we met him, it was clear he is a genuine good soul and a real Islander at heart. He made our group of four feel completely safe, warmly welcomed, and more like friends than customers.
What impressed us most was how naturally he engaged everyone. Keeping a group of four fully included and connected isn’t always easy, but Klinsman made it look effortless—he gave a true masterclass in hospitality and personal connection. His knowledge, humor, and easygoing spirit made the entire experience memorable and enjoyable for all of us.

Thank you Otanie and Roatan Breakaway Tours for an absolutely amazing experience! We would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Roatán. From the moment we booked, the company was extremely attentive and communicative. They sent us detailed messages ahead of time explaining exactly where to meet them after getting off our cruise ship, which made finding our guide on excursion day much easier.
Our driver and guide, Otanie, was wonderful! She is from Roatán and was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating throughout the entire day. As we drove around the island, she shared interesting information about Roatán, its culture, and life on the island. Having a local guide made the experience feel much more personal. We really enjoyed talking with her and learning more about this beautiful place.
Our first stop was AJ's Monkeys and Sloths where we were able to see and interact with animals up close and take so many great pictures. Afterward, we headed to Brady's Cay, which was beautiful and incredibly relaxing. It was such a memorable experience.
What also made this tour stand out was how accommodating and personalized it felt. When we were ready to leave, we asked Otanie if we could stop at a convenience store before returning to the cruise port. She was more than happy to help us find what we needed and never made us feel rushed. At the same time, she made sure we were back at the cruise port with plenty of time to board our ship, which gave us peace of mind throughout the day.
Overall, this was an incredible excursion and gave us some of our favorite memories from our trip. Roatán is absolutely beautiful. THANK YOU for making our visit even more special.

Diola made this excursion so great for my family. Day started with torrential downpour at port and she waited for my family steadily holding her sign. She was friendly and so informative, answering all my questions of the island. We went to AJ’s farm first! The staff at AJ’s were kind and gave me and my family plenty of time with the sloths. Did not feel rushed going from area to area visiting the animals. We then proceeded to get to our snorkel adventure after dropping off our items at a private beach. Diola checked in before we headed out to snorkel to ensure pick up time. I asked her to be a little early, knowing my family would be done with beach time before scheduled excursion time. She arrived as promised and off we went back to the ship. This experience was perfect for me and my family because while it’s a planned excursion, Diola made it so we could customize on timing. Amazing experience and we will be back! Thank you Diola and the entire crew at Breakaway!!

Jessica was the sweetest and warmest guide we could have asked for during our family's excursion in Roatan. She shared some very interesting facts about the island and it's history as we made our way to the animal sanctuary and then the snorkeling. She made the experience so easy and relaxing for us, so that we didn't have to worry about anything. The snorkeling was fun and beach break was so nice with yummy food. We even stopped at a street stand on the way back to the port since she recommended her favorite treat, yucca cake. Very delicious!

A great individualized experience that does not waste your time waiting in lines or on other people! You get your own driver who meets you outside of the downtown area. They take you to the animal park and then wait until you're ready to go. They then take you to the island for snorkeling and beach time. The island was great with beach chairs, way less people, food, drinks, and wifi. Fast boat ride as well and nice people.
Our driver was Ernie and he was great. He really let us personalize the experience to be on our time table so we could stay places as long as we wanted.
This is a great experience for people who are on a cruise and want to get away from the crowds and large group excursions. Very worth the price and a highlight of our trip.

Jason picked us at port, he's an excellent driver. The sloth and monkey tour was awesome! Mischievous monkeys jump on you! Then the beach break was beautiful. Finally snorkeling was wonderful! Jason made sure we were back to the ship on time. No worries! I'd ask for him again!!

Our guide was very nice. Told us a lot about Roatan. The animal sanctuary she took us to, was great. Clean, the animal handlers were knowledgeable and friendly. Our only complaint was that when we got to the beach club, she said we would only be there 20mins then we would get on the boat to go out snorkeling. After 45mins, she came back and told us it would only be 20 more minutes. 30 minutes goes by, we are hungry, so we ordered food. As soon as we got our food, she came and told us the boat was there. We had to leave our food. Somewhere, someone had a communication breakdown that cost us hot food. And then we felt like our snorkeling part was rushed. The boat driver had to make several attempts at the bouy which, I'm sure, cost us time. They were all really nice, but we were barely gone an hour.

Overall we had an enjoyable adventure. We were able to find the tour company easily after getting off the port. We walked a few more minutes to get to their van and we were on our way. Our drive Enrique was friendly and informative. Our first stop was to see the animals - guinea pigs, tropical birds (which go on your arm!), sloth and monkeys. Tour doesn’t take too long but you do get to interact with each. Next stop was the beach club where you can swim, eat and then snorkel. The communication of when you are going snorkeling could be better as it wasn’t clear how much time we had to eat and swim. I believe a few people had the same issue as a few families had to being their food on board the snorkel boat and eat it quickly. Definitely an improvement point for them. The food and drink cost pretty much the same as any tourist spot. I believe most food items were $15-$20USD. The snorkel adventure was fun, we felt it was the right amount of time given. Some nice coral and fish to see. Also it was nice that as we moved along the boat followed. Once we finished that our driver brought us back in plenty of time to get back on the cruise ship. I would recommend this adventure.

We were provided a private SUV with a driver, who was flexible to add a stop at the Chocolate Factory, even though it was not listed on the excursion. She was very friendly, informative, helpful and mindful of the time for each activity and the return to the ship. The Monkeys and Sloth experience was terrific. It is a once-in-a- lifetime experience to be so close and personal to the animals. The private beach club we were taken to next, Brady's Cay, was perfect; white sandy beaches, plenty of lounge chairs with mats and umbrellas, full bar and lunch available, waiter tended to us at our beach chairs, cocktails served in a pineapple if desired, Caribbean music playing, and clean bathroom and shower facilities. Finally, we were taken on a boat for snorkeling. The boat and snorkeling staff were very nice and concerned with our safety. The snorkeling equipment was modern, new, and clean. There was not much to see at the reef, but the boat ride, the water, and the experience was still very enjoyable.

It's not easy to find your tour guide- they said they would have a sign with our name on it but did not. Seemed unorganized and poor communication throughout the trip.

Every day that there is a ship in port we have company representative at the exit gate holding a sing with our company logo RoatanBreakawayTours who will receive you and Introduce you to your Driver Guide, these instructions is provided to every guest after they have booked . And on the day of your excursion they're where many other other guest that was received in the same way and went out to their excursions. We came on a cruise ship and did this tour when we docked in Roatan, it was a great trip, one thing to note is you need to walk out of the cruise terminal to meet the driver, keep going past the main gate and there are lots of people waiting there. Jay was very friendly and took us to to the various places as just our family. The sloth and monkey sanctuary was great, the kids highlight of the whole cruise. Snorkeling and beach great tooz Jay was flexible with picking up times and got us to the cruise ship on time at the time we wanted. Definitely recommend

Overall it was a good excursion. The wildlife park was great if you like animals. You get full immersion. The snorkeling was a bit disorganized and we didn’t know when we were going. I saw others we anxious about that also because we were running low on time. We were proactive and just went over by the snorkeling boat, but if we hadn’t done that, I think we would have missed out.

This was the perfect excursion for our family of 5, and we all had a great time. We have a 7 month old baby and two other children and it was very safe and accommodating. The snorkeling was beautiful, and our children are still talking about the monkeys.
Special thanks to our Guide Jessica! She was so kind and helpful, and she was definitely one of the main reasons we had a special time. She was the best. Roatan is truly beautiful.

We decided to take a chance on an excursion outside the cruise, and it was one of the best decisions we made. We had our own guide, Theola, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the moment we met her. Since it was just our family, we had a private vehicle and could stop anywhere we wanted along the way, making the experience much more personal and relaxed.
The snorkeling and private beach was amazing, and the animal visits were a highlight of our trip. We never felt rushed, and the guides took great care of us throughout the day. They also made sure we returned to the cruise port with plenty of time before our ship departed, which gave us complete peace of mind. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Roatán!

We had a fun time with the sloths and capuchin monkeys at the sanctuary. The pictures were only $10 per person for all of the 300+ pictures that they took. We opted out of the snorkeling because the water was rough and one of us gets bad motion sickness. The beach was relaxing. We were able to snorkel from the beach, though there was not much to see. The best part of the tour however was the tour guide, Michelle. She was the best! We learned so much about the people and customs in the area. We very much enjoyed this trip.

What an amazing day we had. Enrique was a great guide, was able to switch things up a bit for us and added a stop at the chocolate factory. I am the type of person that worries about being back on time for the cruise ship, details, etc.. I quickly figured out that there was no need to worry about these things-He had everything figured out for us so we could enjoy our time without stressing . Enrique gave us a great tour! My wife, myself and our two children aged 7 & 9 did the Animal sanctuary, Beach break, and snorkeling with Breakaway Tours and Omar was our guide. It was truly an unforgettable experience I would recommend to anyone. Omar was very kind, knowledgeable, and assisted us through the entire journey.
It was about a 20 minute drive from the cruise port to the first stop at AJ's Monkey & Slothe sanctuary. The workers at the sanctuary were very personable and made for a hands-on experience. It started with about 50 guinea pigs spilling out of their cage where the kids got to hold them. Next, they had slothes that we could walk up and pet as they munched on leaves. Next we went into a pen with Macaws where they sat on our arms, head, and our daughter even bravely fed a seed to one with her mouth. The best part was when we got into the pen with about 10 Capuchin Monkeys and were they ever entertaining. Before long they were on your head, shoulders, arms. Taking peoples hats and passing them around. Wrestling one another. Everyone had a ball.
Following the sanctuary, we went on the beach break to a well maintained beach equipped with loungers, bars, restaurant. We had pineapples and coconuts filled with drinks and garnished with hibiscus. The beach was sugar white and water turquoise, the backdrop was of Roatan Island dotted with palm trees.
After about an 1-1.5 hours or so we boarded a small craft with about 20 other guests and guides. It was a 10 minute ride to a nearby reef. They provided the snorkeling equipment and had life perservers & water noodles if required. We dont snorkel back home in Ohio so it took some getting used to. At any point I could stand and gather my bearings, the water wasnt too deep. We saw urchins, conch, silver and yellow fish among the reefs.
Omar returned us to our cruise ship. The experience made Roatan Island one of our favorite in the Caribbean. Definitely recommend this experience with Breakaway Tours & thanks Omar!

This is a great excursion that has all the fun parts in a day. Monkeys and sloth, snorkeling, and break at private beach. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on this tour! From seeing the sloths, macaws, and monkeys to relaxing at the beach and snorkeling, everything was well organized and so much fun. Our tour guide, JJ, made the experience even better. He was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and made sure everyone had a great time from the moment he picked us up at the port until we returned. We had such a great time on this excursion and Christian was the best driver and guide! AJ’s animal sanctuary was our favorite part- the staff genuinely cared about the animals, and we were able to pet the sloths and hold the monkeys, which I wasn’t expecting at all. Christian answered all our questions knowledgeably and even made an extra stop on the way back to the ship so that we could do some souvenir shopping. I would highly recommend!!

Animal park was great, even in the rain! Our driver, Andre(not Omar!) was great and got us where we needed to be. The snorkeling was a little confusing with no apparent organization to the groups. Would have been better if not raining but they couldn’t help that.

Breakaway tours was awesome! Probably one of the best excursions and companies we have encountered with Viator. Our driver (Jay) happily accommodated our constantly changing wants due to rain. The animal sanctuary was amazing and the private island (Brady’s Caye) was INCREDIBLE- we had initially planned on staying for 2 hours and ended up staying for 4. Then Jay took us on a hunt for hot sauce we enjoyed on the island. Everyone we encountered with Breakaway was fun, knowledgeable, and seemed to really enjoy their jobs!

The waters were beautiful. Guides were so friendly. The French Key private beach was awesome. Our tour guide stayed with us all day and gave us so much info about the island. The sloth, monkeys, and birds were the freaking best. The sloths were soft, and they held on to you. The monkeys jumped around and onto you and ate from your hands. Absolutely the best trip ever.
