Awesome knowledgeable guide Katerina!!! I highly recommend this tour. She was able to answer every question and that was great. Wear tennis shoes or super comfortable ones, lots of walking.

We booked this tour a few months ago. We were nervous because my husband hates walking too much and I wasn’t sure if he was going to make it to the top of the hill… lol Our tour guide was great. She was very knowledgeable. I was hesitant on the group tour because we had done all private tours up until this tour. We had 14 others join us and were given headset. This was perfect. They were loud enough and very clear. We did the 8am tour which I recommend and she took us around the back entrance and although it was busy, it was not overwhelming and we made a lot of stops before we got to the top. So it never felt difficult once we reached the top. It was hot. And I had purchased these super fans on Amazon and wore them around my neck and took water. There was a nice breeze. It was warm but we didn’t feel hot. By the time we were traveling back down, it did get packed. We did the museum tour too. We loved the history here (coming from the USA. So fascinating and our tour guide brought the past alive! We definitely recommend it. Also, a very important part of the trip is the communication and the ease of finding our spot. They communicated a few days before and the day before and the morning of. They tell you to use Google Maps for gps for more accuracy. I used Apple Maps without a problem. Thanks for a great 3 hour tour which was perfect!

A very good tour that is informative and interesting covering the ancient Athen history. A tour to the museum is also excellent.

We had a wonderful time on the walking tour of the Acropolis and the museum. The Acropolis is the most famous attraction in Athens. It was our first time and we gained a lot of knowledge about Athens and Greek history. Our tour guide Frosso was so knowledgeable and passionate about her culture.
The hike up to the acropolis wasn’t bad in our opinion but could be difficult for some. Make sure to bring water and use the restroom before you go up. Also, you make want to bring a hat as there isn’t much shade. Would definitely recommend to those who are visiting Athens for the first time and enjoy history.

The directions to the meeting place we're vague, and difficult to find, no one reached out with a text or any other way to reach the actual guide. The directions stated someone would be at the meeting place with a sign with our names on i (that didn't happen). We didn't have Internet access, finally found the net place, stood there for 20 minutes, kept calling the phone number in the original email, only to get a recording, they left without us and called us a "no show"!!! We waited for the 5pm group only to be told that they had taken our rights inside and we were out of luck. No one held ANY type of sign for that group either! We went in on our own, no lines, no stress, and went at our own pace.

The meeting point is the Acropolis Metro Station. This is clearly stated in the tour description, booking confirmation, and reminder emails.
The information also asks guests to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Our Acropolis tickets are timed and expire, so the guide cannot delay the group and must leave no later than five minutes after the scheduled departure.
Unfortunately, you arrived 15 minutes after the required meeting time because you had not checked the meeting-point information in advance. We therefore cannot accept responsibility for your missing the tour. When joining a scheduled group tour, it is essential to check the meeting point and arrival instructions beforehand.

Guide was late. The your was packed with nearly 25 people so if was difficult to hear her even with the electronic listening system. She never asked if we had questions and there were so many people it would have been hard to do so. Her English accent was thick and difficult to understand. I would not recommend.
Response from Host, July 2026
Scheduled group tours can sometimes be challenging, as guests need to keep up with the group’s pace while processing a considerable amount of information—particularly when listening in a language that is not their native one.
I am sorry that the experience was not comfortable for you. For guests who prefer a more relaxed pace, greater flexibility and the guide’s full attention, we also offer private tours as a more comfortable, premium alternative.

Highly recommend five stars

Marie is an excellent guide and knows her history backwards and forwards. Extremely knowledgeable. All tickets were taken care of, was an easy excursion!
Jennifer_E, July 2026
It was a great tour. If going in the summer, make sure to bring plenty of water and a hat. It can be HOT and there isn’t a lot of shade. Also, get your legs ready!!
Richard_W, July 2026
Highly recommend! It made the experience so much more enjoyable and educational for me and my family! Very engaging and a positive and knowledgeable guide helped the overall experience. Our guide was very good at directing us, checking in on attendance throughout so we didn’t lose anyone, and had a passion for the history that was infectious. A+
Robert_A, July 2026
Perfect tour guide! Just the right amount of information and depth of information. Enjoyed the small group setting as well.
Matthew_C, July 2026
Frosso was the best guide; well paced and learned a lot from her! Glad we did this instead of going by ourselves.
brenda_m, July 2026
Maria was so knowledgeable and she made the experience really easy and memorable, I really enjoyed it .
Victoria_H, July 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and paced the tour exceptionally well. I never felt like we were going too fast or lingering too much despite a very diverse group.
Karen_B, July 2026
We did the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum tour with Elena. It was an amazing experience. Elena was a fantastic guide. I highly recommend this tour.
Jessica_S, July 2026
Our tour guide was awesome. She was knowledgeable and provided a lot of insight (rather than just staring at the rocks). She was contentious of the heat and paced the tour accordingly. You should be able to walk uphill and up stairs unassisted to complete this tour. If you are doing it during summer, book morning or evening tours and bring water. A hat or an umbrella would be helpful if going during the day.
BJ_H, July 2026
Our guide was excellent! Easy to find the location/meeting place. It was a very hot day and our guide went at a reasonable pace throughout the tour, stopping periodically in shady spots. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and very friendly. Highly recommend this walking tour. It looks steep but amazingly was a gentle uphill.
Pam_F, July 2026
We loved going in the evening and having a headset to learn about all things with the Acropolis and Parthenon.
Elizabeth_M, July 2026
It’s a tour you should take first on arrival in Athens. Our guide Fro gave a very lively commentary.
Had our tour beginning at 8.00am which made it a bit easier for us in the high day temperatures.
Jennifer_T, July 2026
We learned so much! Doing this with a guide is absolutely important. I have a history degree and could not have figured it all out without a guide!
Michael_S, July 2026
Wear comfortable shoes with good traction because the hike up to a top of Acropolis Hill is slippery. Aside from this the tour was excellent and our tour guide FROSSO was incredibly knowledgeable well spoken and just did an outstanding job
Niki_T, July 2026
What a great experience! The tour guide was excellent. Loved her manner and the way she explained everything. I enjoyed listening to her explaining Greece history. Also her awareness of safety was throughout the trip. The view of Acropolis was as expected beautiful! Definitely worth it!!!!
Regina_H, July 2026
Our tour guide very knowledgeable on Greek and Acropolis history. She stopped several times to make sure everyone got a good of certain points. Also told us where to step to avoid slipping. After exploring the Acropolis, we went into the museum. And her extensive knowledge continued to amaze us. This was a great tour and an amazing tour guide.
corey_l, July 2026
My wife and I very much enjoyed the tour and our guide, Vicki was great. It was super hot at 10 am when our tour started but being Floridians we were used to it. My only complaint is that we felt a bit rushed at the top by the Parthenon and could have used more time for photos. The museum tour was great but by that time you could see the entire group was pretty exhausted. Bottom line is it’s a must do tour in Athens that I would recommend to anyone. It’s definitely slippery up top and lots of rocks to navigate so it’s not for someone who’s not prepared for that.
Athnasios_Z, July 2026
Eva was an amazing tour guide! Fun, informative, very thoughtful about walking and stopping in the shade. Highly recommend!
George_B, July 2026
Our tour guide, George, was outstanding. His knowledge base was expansive and it showed that he really enjoyed giving the tour. Excellent experience !
Rory_B, July 2026
An outstanding tour of the Acropolis and museum. Our tour guide, Frosso, we extremely knowledgeable about ancient Greece history and culture. She also paced our tour so we were in the shade when we needed it! We would highly recommend doing this tour!!
Ceri_H, July 2026
What a great experience well worth it! So informative Maria was a great guide! We had a great time learning all about the acropolis and its history the museum was beautiful and she picked the best parts to show us.
Danielle_H, July 2026
This was the perfect schedule, 3 hours was just enough, with the outdoor portion first thing before it got too hot, followed by the air conditioned museum. Our guide was passionate and extremely knowledgeable!
Margo_F, July 2026
