I think this experience depends largely on the guide. While our guide was knowledgeable, we got into the acropolis gates and stood there while he talked then we left! We didn't walk around at all! We didn't have an opportunity to fill our water bottles , go to the bathroom or see anything other than the Parthenon. The trek up was a lot easier than I anticipated. A word to the wise when going to the museum, if you want to see the ruins underneath, you have to go outside and show your ticket, however with a tour you don't have a ticket! Before going outside, go to the information desk and tell them you want to go the ruins but you were with a tour and don't have a ticket. They'll call down to the guard to let you in.

Great tour, so glad we did it! We learned a lot about the history of Athens and Greece. Our guide was great, kept us together and found great spots to view and take pictures! We also did the Museum and we are so glad we did!

Wear sunscreen, wear good shoes. The initial hike to the top is fairly steep. The guide will take time to make sure everyone gets to the top. There is an elevator if needed. It’s worth the hike!
Mary_E, June 2026
The Tour Guide was very knowledgeable. You definitely need shoes the won't slide on slippery surfaces. And don't wear a hat that blows off. Its windy up there.
Allison_V, June 2026
Maria was an excellent tour guide and so knowledgeable. It was a really great way to experience the Acropolis, and so nice to have a clear path from the site to the museum.
Sachin_V, June 2026
Guide had heavy accent and was difficult to understand. She did not stop to give time to take photos. Rushed tour.
Troy_B, June 2026
Excellent small group tour….guide was very knowledgeable and brought the Acropolis to life. We would definitely recommend this tour.
Sankar_N, June 2026

Hands down an incredible tour by Maria! Do not visit the acropolis without a tour guide or is absolutely worth every penny! Maria navigated a large group through a very crowded acropolis with ease and grace ! The amount of information and time dedicated to the group was outstanding! Highly recommend!!!!

What a wonderful experience! Our guide, Eva shared her love for Athena with us along with so many interesting facts about the history of the monuments and Athens itself. We left feeling inspired to read more about Athens and Greece and Greek Mythology. We thoroughly loved the experience. It was amazing to walk and see and learn about the Acropolis from an expert. We would do the tour again!

If you are up for the steps the view is amazing! We loved our guide, Frosso (apologies if we spelled it wrong). She was so passionate about sharing the history of the Acropolis, making the experience memorable and engaging.
Jocelyn_P, May 2026
Excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. This is the way to see the Acropolis and museum. It was well worth the expense to avoid the ticket lines. Having a guide to take you through it made it a much richer experience.
Joanne_W, May 2026
Our guide was fabulous! She was so knowledgeable about the acropolis and the partheon and she didn’t stop explaining for a minute. total historic information it was just unbelievable! I explained that I had a bad knee and we went the easy way up to the party, which was not so many steps and a lot of shave which we stopped and often to break up with the client!
Can’t believe I actually made it up to the party on and down with no problem with my knee and then we went through the museum again she was just on target couldn’t have asked for a better tour!
Jeffrey_C, May 2026
Our tour guide seemed hurried. Concentrated mostly about art. Provided little history other than the original times. She seemed rushed and I'm afraid that we might have missed some things. Wish you would have taken us down below to the archaeological dig site and explained each of the chambers.
Pamela_P, May 2026
Great experience, our guide was from Greece and had in depth knowledge of Greek history, particularly as it pertained to this tour.
Renee_C, May 2026
Petros was a very knowledgeable tour guide and it made the experience amazing!
We would love to come back and see the Acropolis again.
Shana_T, May 2026
So glad we booked this! Our guide, Frosso, was wonderful! Her English was perfect and easy to understand. She mixed in history, facts and humor. It was very fun. She did a great job of taking breaks and letting the group sit for a bit.
I don’t think I would do the museum part again. We were tired and hungry and kind of over it by that part. Overall it was a great experience!
Martha_S, May 2026
We had an excellent guide. Learned so much and she took great care of us in the heat. Could not recommend more.
Lorie_H, May 2026
Our guide Vicki was incredibly knowledgeable. She is a walking museum. We highly recommend this tour. It was excellent. Vicky was likely the best tour guide we have experienced. Thank you!
Patsy_H, May 2026
Lots of walking with some steep areas. The guide was very informative and interesting. She gave the group plenty of time to take pictures and look around. Recommend!
Stephanie_H, May 2026
The tour left without us at 4:05 and without any contact number to the guide. We were only a few minutes late and spent $350 on tickets. Don’t use Apple Maps to route you or you will get mapped incorrectly and you won’t get a refund.
Response from Host, May 2026
The tour departed as scheduled, and you arrived after the designated meeting time. We clearly ask all guests to arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the tour start time. This information is provided during booking, in the confirmation email, on the voucher, and in the meeting point instructions.
The tickets used for this experience are timed-entry tickets. Once the entry window expires, the tickets become invalid, and neither the museum nor the operator can reissue or refund them. To avoid affecting the experience and admission of the rest of the group, the tour cannot be delayed beyond the scheduled departure time.
As stated in our booking terms, late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable.
We strongly recommend allowing extra travel time and arriving early, particularly in busy cities where navigation, traffic, or unfamiliar surroundings can cause delays.
Do not be late.

I paid $163 for this 3 hour tour with ticket for the Acropolis (30 euros) and the museum (20 euros) which means that I still paid about $100 for a walking tour. After talking to other tourists, I found out that they had paid a lot less for basically the same. It was not a bad experience, but it was definitely overpriced.
Response from Host, May 2026
The experience you booked was designed as a premium small-group tour and included pre-reserved admission tickets where you skipped the lines to both the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, an expert licensed guide, audio headsets, and a carefully timed itinerary.
The value of the experience is not only in the admission tickets themselves, but also in the convenience of having all arrangements handled in advance, avoiding ticket queues, navigating the sites efficiently, and gaining deeper insight from a professional guide.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the experience and appreciated the guide. While we understand that lower-priced alternatives exist, many travelers specifically choose small-group tours for the enhanced experience, personal attention, and time savings they provide.
Thank you again for sharing your perspective, and we hope you enjoyed your time in Athens.

Wow what a host. The lady was a first class guide who went beyond factual and clearly loves the philosophy of her country's history. I truly think we had the best guide on the hill. She cared that we understood the history and thought process. The ruins are amazing. The scenery is incredible yet this trip was inspiring.
Jaques_L, May 2026
Excellent place and guide, she knew everything about the place and history. Audio guide worked very good. All was provided as offered.
Brian_K, May 2026
Great tour. We all had a great time. We would recommend it as it was the perfect length and covered all of the highlights.
Germana_R, May 2026
It is a bucket list must do! To experience in person what has been seen only in books. It is a breathtaking to walk the path of ancient history and to be surrounded by the historical architecture.
Sandy_S, May 2026
Eva did a fantastic job. Very informative and pleasant. The illustrations she shared now vs then were a nice add on.
Kathleen_H, May 2026
Helena was fabulous! Gave us enough information but not too much. She was conscious of everyone’s needs. Her explanations were very interesting! Highly recommend this tour!!!
Orlana_M, May 2026
Wear shoes that are good for a long walk on uneven and slightly slippery surfaces. The guide was wonderful - lots of interesting information about the process and history of the Greeks and the Acropolis. Well worth the cost for the entire tour outdoors and in the museum. Perfect for a short visit to Athens.
Stacey_W, May 2026
We all had a great time even though it rained. It was really pretty crowded but it was a Saturday!!!
