Amazing tour of a ghastly place

This tour of Auschwitz/birkenau is something you do and you must do before leaving Poland. Our guide Eugene was superb. Articulate and thoughtful in his understanding and explanations of the horrors of the place, he gave a masterful tour. The experience is difficult, made moreso by the numbers of visitors. But that’s sort of the point. People need to see this place and 2M do so every year. Yet despite the challenges in bringing a large group through, Eugene still manged to impart the key information and ideas of the shoah, and even relate it to events of today. We began our tour in Krakow and on the long drive to the camp Eugene engaged us in discussion even relating his personal experiences and motivation for doing what he does. His guidance on navigating us through the crowds was masterful and his presentation of everything from the horrible details of life in the camps to discussions of the “other” were all spot on. Horrible, respectful, and designed to educate and allow us to “feel” the horror some 75 years later. I recommend this tour without hesitancy, and I commend Eugene for his humanity and his dedication in compassionately leading others through this place of horror.

The trip was amazing and...

The trip was amazing and very well organised and on time. Mirek our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable and friendly with great recommendations (he even paid for a souvenir for us when we forgot our money on the bus - we paid him back, obviously). Lucas our driver was also great on the road and got us to our destinations safely. The hot springs were nice and relaxing and was well worth the money and early start :)

Fantastic experience

Excellent value for money, our driver was amazing, very knowledgeable. Lots of walking on the day, we booked a guided tour with headphones which was excellent. Did feel a bit rushed in places as there were so many tours going on. We ordered the packed lunch as there isnt much time to get anything between the two camps, everything was very efficient, lunch was amazing.

100% worth it

We had such a great day. It started with the salt mine, which was very interesting. There are alot of stairs but anyone can do it, it's not that bad. What is inside that mine will blow your mind. Afterwards we did the two camp sites. It made it a Somber Day but we learned even more than what we knew. Our tour guides were awesome, bus ride comfortable, and driver was very cognizant of the van being warm or cold. I would recommend this 100%

Very organised Tour . Pick up was on time and the communication beforehand was excellent . Fortunately for us we had a fantastic guide who showed empathy throughout the tour and came across very knowledgable . We weren’t rushed at all. We also had an option to purchase a packed lunch which was very handy due to the length and timings of the tour .

Excellent, informative...

Excellent, informative tour. Very moving experience. It's a lot of walking but done at a pace that most would be able to tackle. Our guide (Ivan? I feel awful I cannot remember his name) was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Our driver Kacper (Kapi) was also great. Arrived when he said he would and made sure to get us where we needed to be and had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

Amazing tribute to human achievement

The Salt Mines are an incredible tribute to human endevour and a spectacular place to visit. Be prepared for a lot of walking and steps ( all downhill but nevertheless challenging) but the reward at the end is well worth it. Some quite incredible caverns and sculpures and amazing to think it was all carved out by hand over many centuries. Guide was great and headphones provided clear commentary. A must see attraction in Krakow

Sobering extraordinary experience …..

The experience at the site was extraordinary. Very organized and our guide was better than excellent. She brought home a sadistic time in world history that I have trouble understanding and putting into words. I believe her name was Lydia and her vast knowledge as a historian was appreciated.

Great experience and an important one

Picked up from meeting point and taken to the tour at 9.45. It was well put together and had the option to have lunch included (which I would highly recommend). Also take water with you due to the walking (it was a very hot the day when I went) as there are not many facilities. But the tour guide was amazing, informative and knowledgeable. It’s a very important experience that will stay with you long after you are dropped back off.

Cheese and vodka tasting...

Cheese and vodka tasting was excellent. Cheese was so good. Funicular ride was lovely especially if you get the front seat. Thermal springs was great but could have spent less time there. Pick up time was nice and easy and less than 2 min walk from the hotel. Lara and our driver were awesome and made it an entertaining trip.
