Top Normandy Sidecar Tours

We paid a little extra so we could each ride in our own sidecar with two separate drivers, and it was worth every penny. The drive from the port through Le Havre and across the bridge was exciting and beautiful. We've been on over 50 cruises with several cruise lines and have booked many excursions through Viator over the years — this is, by far, the best one we've ever done. As we talked with our drivers along the way, they modified the route to show us things we were personally interested in, which made the whole experience feel custom-tailored. The Calvados tasting was amazing, and the charcuterie we purchased to nibble on paired perfectly with it. One tip: as with any motorcycle/sidecar ride, bring light layers and a windbreaker or light rain jacket. We changed layers several times throughout the ride as conditions shifted.

This was our favorite tour experience by far. Riding the motorcycle and sidecar through the quiet backroads of Normandy felt like going back in time. Our guide, Thierry, knew the area and the history and took us to the bunkers and turrets above Omaha Beach at a place not easily accessible by car so we enjoyed it alone before returning to the lower beach other other stops. I’d highly recommend this experience and Thierry is an excellent and safe driver, the sidecar is comfortable, and riding on the back of the motorcycle is too. (My teen son and I swapped spots at times.) Thierry has rain gear (it had rained before our ride), gloves, helmets, etc. I would definitely take this tour and so much better than being in a minivan or car for a private tour.
