Perfect guide and Tour
We learned so much from our guide Lucas and the area. We liked the references to the Band of Brothers but it was also full of landmarks and general history. We wish we had time to come back. There are more museums to see but this gave us a chance to know the area and sacrifices of both French and Americans and Allies.

The D-Day tour was the...
The D-Day tour was the perfect way to see some of the most important sites in Normandy. Our guide, Roma, was so knowledgeable and informative. We would never have been able to understand the historical nuances of the different areas without her expertise.

Picturesque Honfleur
Really enjoyed this tour & our guide, Lawrence (from Australia). Deuville was interesting to see & enjoyed the stop at the beach for a crepe! Delicious! But Honfleur was such a cute quaint town with its boats, shops & cafes. We were back at the cruise port as expected. I’d recommend this tour.

Great Normandy Battle tour!
This all day experience covers the most critical sites in a thoughtful and comprehensive way. You have time to see everything but just know that the day has no time to go to the museums. If that is your hope I would recommend spending an extra day and getting a car and just going museum to museum.

Ingrid and Torbjörn in Normandy.
We had a very nice day together with Remy who guided us in a very engaged way. He had very good knowledge and always wanted everyone to get all the information. He had a binder in A3 format with lots of maps and pictures explaining the events of D-Day.

A Great Day in Paris with Maarten, our Tour Guide
This was a great way to see Paris when short on time from Le Havre cruiseport. We were taken by bus and greeted by Maarten our guide at the boat terminal on the Seine River. We traveled by a tour boat located right by the Eiffel Tower down the Seine and back and saw so many famous sites. We were then escorted back to our bus and driven past many more famous sites including a stop at the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and had time to shop the Champs-Elysees, with time to stop at a lovely sidewalk cafe for food and drink. All in all a very productive tour day with Maarten, a very informative guide and wonderful conversationalist!

DDay walking in the footsteps of history
wear comfy shoes and layers as weather is changeable at the different locations. take a drink and small snack with you as it is a busy itinerary. you will stand where the landings happened and really get a sense of the scale of the defensive position and how challenging that was to overcome. the cemetery is surprisingly beautiful and so well cared for. if you have ever watched a film about DDay you will recognise place names and if you haven’t then you should before or after the trip. having a guide who has thoroughly researched the events and personal stories made the experience. we were in a group of 8 made up of 4 couples- from Scotland, Ireland, Sweden and USA so a very mixed group and we all found it superb.

Wonderful day on the rock
Our tour guide, Manon, was great at explaining everything and was very informative and knowledgeable. Be aware that there are many steps to get up to the top of the Abbey, which was fine for us, but might be challenging for others. Fantastic views from the top and a very historical setting. Ate lunch at a restaurant and enjoyed the experience. It was a little crowded on Saturday, but not overwhelming. We had really good weather. Took the shuttle bus back-and-forth, which was crowded, but if you want to do more walking, it’s about a mile or more from the parking lot to the Abbey.

Shore excursion to DDay beaches
This was an incredible experience for us. We took a bus ride from the port at LeHavre to the site. During the ride Lawrence told us many stories about DDay. We went to Pointes du Hoc first, then Omaha a beach, then the American Cemetery. Lunch was provided and we ate it while we were at the beach. It was a delicious French bread sandwich with hame nd cheese, a bottle of water and some small macaroons and another cookie. Very sobering to see the cliffs, the beach, the gun emplacements and the landscape that is still pockmarked with bomb craters. Lawrence was a wealth of knowledge which really enhanced the experience.

Mt. St. Michael with Elise
On Sept 2 we took the Mont St. Michael tour with Viator. Our guide was Elise. She was very personable and so well informed about the history of the cathedral and the various rooms we went through. She was also well versed in the surrounding area and the history of the people who were involved with the building and use of the Cathedral over the years. She was an excellent and safe driver on the trip to and from as well. We enjoyed the day very much and thank Elise for such a memorable day.

Great cruise excursion
Our Norwegian cruise ship got out of Belgium late because of dock workers strike so we were late getting to the Paris port. I called Vexperio the moment we found out and they just found out. Vexperio had great communication by sending texts and emails letting me and everyone know that the new arrival time of our ship was 9 and the shore excursion would start about 9:30am . The meeting point was easy just outside the terminal on the opposite side of the parking lot. This excursion was fantastic, Peter our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very funny. Highly recommend this excursion.

Informative and emotional
Our guide, Thierry, was very knowledgeable. He added a lot to the tour with his detailed stories about some of the men who fought in these battles, and the tactics and strategies of the combatants and their commanders. He used pictures and maps of the action in his presentation. Wear comfortable walking shoes and be ready for a few close quarters and steps in the bunkers. Also be ready to stand as your tour guide details what happened in these areas in 1944. Come with your questions. Our guide time the ending to be at the EOD taps and flag lowering.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
World War II history, UNESCO-listed monuments, Belle Epoque beach resorts, and medieval cities: Normandy has it all, and you’ll only scratch the surface of what this region offers on Normandy day trips. With just one day, focus your explorations on a particular area or sight, whether visiting France’s most famous island monastery, following the path of Allied soldiers at the D-Day beaches, or hopping between the picturesque coastal towns of the North. Normandy is close enough to Paris to be a day-trip destination, but you’ll be able to see even more if you start from Bayeux or Le Havre.
