What to do in Bulgaria 🌟
We really enjoyed our trip to Rila Monastery! Great weather, a comfortable and safe drive, and above all, a fantastic guide, Apostolos. His interesting commentary, tips, and recommendations made the trip even more special – we got to taste some local treats and even attend a Mass in the church. Highly recommended!

Great value for money!
It was a very well organized day trip from Sofia. Our guide (a history teacher) Aleksander was great. He really has a great knowledge about history and story telling skills (also nice sense of humor).
The communication day before the trip was also nice. They explain where and how to meet.
If I had more time in Bulgaria, I would definitely try to book sth with the same company and the same guide.

Interesting day with a fantastic guide
Iva was a real professional. This full day tour went smoothly from beginning to end. Her communication, in 2 languages, kept us informed , allowing us to make the most of our time at all the stops. She was enthusiastic about Bulgarian history and this made for a special day. We definitely recommend this tour.

A great day trip!
Really glad I took this trip! I was hesitant bc it was a long drive, but the new van was very comfortable and it was worth the trip! Our tour guide Elena(?) was wonderful and our driver was fun to chat with. I was really impressed with Skopje, it was gorgegous!

We learned Bulgaria produces excellent wine!
Enjoyed five interesting wines from five different geographic regions of Bulgaria. We tasted Two white, one “orange”, and 2 two red wines, all with unique flavor profiles, along with a nice selection of local meats, cheese and bread for pairing.
Lyubomir, our host, was very knowledgeable about the history of wine in Bulgaria from early times leading up the present day. The shop has a nice, comfortable room for small group tastings. The experience is at a comfortable pace as well, with plenty of time to ask questions and enjoy each glass of wine.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience that we are happy to recommend.

An experience rich in history!
Phenomenal experience. The Rila Monastery is a beautiful place rich with history. Our guide Simeon was very knowledgeable and personable. The excursion to the Cave of St. Ivan was a wonderful adventure as well, making the whole trip worthwhile. Upon arriving back to Sofia, we were treated with a trip to the Bell Park.

Wonderful day out to Plovdiv and Koprivshtitsa
Wonderful day trip!
Marina was great - so knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts about life and culture in Bulgaria.
The day was long but there were plenty of opportunities for breaks and rests. Enough time in Plovdiv for a lunch and shop.

Perfect day out from Sofia
The Rila lakes are extremely popular, especially on the weekends. The crowds were unimaginable. The chair lift process is a bit disorganized, the line-up took over an hour to clear. Wish the guides had a way to reserve lift tickets in advance. Nevertheless, the views up above by the lakes were totally worth the wait. We took a guide option and perhaps we should have opted out to a self-guided option as it the pace was a bit high. However, the guide was instrumental in reaching the sixth lake (and potentially the seventh) on time and getting back to the bus. The hike took about 3 hours and the length was about 8 km with the elevation gain of 400m. First, you climb a steep incline to the right of the chalet, then it is a walk on a fairly flat surface until you reach the last big incline to the sixth and seventh lakes. Overall, depending on your ambitions, you may want to spend longer up by the lakes depending on your overall fitness (unless you need to be on-time for the return bus!). There are some food and drinks on both sides of the chair lift. The chalet up top has a small restaurant with sitting outside. We got lucky with no rain as the chairs are open but sure do check the forecast so you come on a clear day. The monastery on the way back was a perfect icing on a cake and a relaxing stop after the mountain hike. Overall, this is probably the best tour we took from Sofia. Very long day but totally worth it.

Great tour
Nis is interesting and I enjoyed this tour. Our guide Lubo was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After a previous accident, I'm not a fan of motorways and the speed limits in Bulgaria are higher than what I'm used to but Lubo was a great driver and I felt very safe in his car. We had long queues at the borders but he kept us in good spirits.
I would avoid this tour during the summer holidays as I believe the border queues are rediculous.

I think the tour covers...
I think the tour covers the major tourist locations in central Sofia, and I really enjoyed it. We all received an audio guide in our preferred language, but the guide also explained the history and answered questions in three languages (English, Italian, and Russian), which was impressive.

This day trip proved...
This day trip proved excellent value during our week in Sofia. Our guide Nina was so competent, warm and friendly and simply a wealth of knowledge with regards The Old Town of Plovdiv and Bulgaria in general.
Fascinating houses and history.
The ancient architectural structures were extraordinary and filled with wonder.
I certainly recommend this experience to anyone with a keen interest in their current vicinity and history in general.

Ani was a excellent tour guide and very welcoming
Tour guide Ani was very friendly right from the beginning. Despite only being booked and required to speak in Spanish Ani kindly translated everything into English for those of us who should have had audio guides. I had downloaded the audio guide but hard to follow given that the numbers etc. didn't tie up with the order that we saw things in Plovdiv. Also, the audio guide is an American voice that goes into a lot of detail sometimes for nearly 10 minutes at a time, which I found quite annoying after awhile and hard to stay interested in. If you can I definitely recommend booking a tour with a tour guide that speaks your required language and don't book the audio guide tours. Plovdiv was lovely and nice weather. We also went to the Thracian tomb near Starosel and Starosel art village to look at the amazing graffiti art work. Thank you Ani and our driver for a lovely day trip in a comfortable minibus.
