What are people saying about Basel

Had to cancel. Our issue, not the guide or Viator.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our tour. Our guide was very understanding due to the circumstances. Is there a possibility of applying any credit toward a future tour or for at least a partial refund? If not, we understand. The cancellation was totally on us.

Our tour guide, Julie,...
Our tour guide, Julie, was wonderful. Her personality was engaging and fun. She enjoyed giving us the tour despite the very hot weather. She was very knowledgeable about Basel and took us to many beautiful sites, including a short boat ride across the Rhine River. I highly recommend this tour.

A MUST DO tour from Basel!!
Julianna was the perfect tour guide! She was very sweet, patient, and knowledgeable! She handled all of the logistics of the trains and everything went very smoothly! The train ride was clean, comfortable and perfect for viewing the amazing scenery! Time allowed in Lucerne and Interloken great for grabbing a bite to eat and souvenir shopping! I highly recommend this tour in you are in Basel and want to see two spectacular Switzerland towns!

A perfectly amazing day!
It was an amazing day. We saw so much and experienced a train ride, a boat ride around Lake Lucerne with the most beautiful views, a cog wheel ride up the mountain and a gondola ride down after time at the summit and a lovely walking tour of Lucerne. Our guide, Feyssal Gharbi, was informative, funny and made sure we were comfortable and the very best views of everything there was to see. It was one of the best tours we have ever taken.

Beautiful Experience
Beautiful on a sunny day! Tour guides were very friendly. Directions to the meeting place at the train station was spot on. Our tour guide, Salma was very friendly and met us there. But, we were very surprised she didn't go on the train with us to Lucerne, but just dropped us off with instructions to meet the main tour guide, Erika at Lucerne. This was our first time on a train in Europe and we were under the impression that we would have a guide every step of the tour. No English announcements was spoken over the intercom as in some places. It wasn't easy finding the group once we arrived, so that part of the journey was frustrating.
Once we joined the group, the rest of the day was amazing. Our tour guide, Erika was fantastic, being friendly and knowledgeable. We walked short way to the Ferry tour boat. The views were fantastic. Nice and gentle ride. Then got off and took a break before going on the Cogwheel up the mountain. It was a very smooth and steady ride. I don't like heights, but as long as I didn't look straight down on some parts, I was great! The scenery was spectacular. Tunnels, forest, Lucerne and lake below, snow capped mountains in the distance. We had the very back seats that fit three comfortably. Being at the back window meant lots of photos were taken! At the top was amazing. Ate lunch at the restaurant up a floor vs the little quick Cafe. The food and chef were fabulous! Definitely do the short walk that takes you to a few lookouts carved out of the Mountain. It gives you a different view. But, be warned that it is very dark and wet inside with an uneven walkway, so not recommended for those unsteady on their feet or have poor eyesight. When we came back out, we looked at where we were, and there were mountain goats on the cliff! What a fun bonus!
Took the tram down. I must say that could have been done better as the Pilatus staff shoved as many people in there as they could. We could barely move. It is a short 5 minute standing only ride, thank goodness, but that was not OK.
Next, we hopped on a small cable car which can hold six. But there isn't anyone there to guide you into a specific car as they come around the corner slowly, so, many of us ended up in our very own car. That was nice!
We then walked a few blocks down hill to the bus stop. We had one gentleman in a walker, and it was very difficult for he and his wife to navigate it. I'm glad some of us were able to help on the steep parts of the walk. I would not recommend it for those who have mobility issues.
All in all, it definitely was a highlight of our three week trip to Europe and we would do it again!

Great Walking Tour Of Basel!!
We enjoyed our tour with Petra today. There was my wife, my sister-in-law and her husband, and my brother-in-law. Petra told us of a lot of the history of Basel and gave us an excellent overview.
Only item I would suggest is a microphone for the tour guide and headsets for the customers. Because of the traffic and other sounds, at times it was hard to hear her.
It is nothing against Petra!! She did very well.

Fantastic Matterhorn Experience
The all day trip was worth every minute of it. The train rides brought us through the beautiful countryside and along rivers to the final climb to the Matterhorn. The views were breathtaking and we were able to get a number of fantastic photos.
The best part of the trip, however, was our guide, Feyssal. He was absolutely the best. He was knowledgeable, funny, professional and a wonderful representative for Viator.

trains, buses, boats oh my!
super efficient. you will ride a tram from your hotel, then train, then bus, then cable car, gondola, cogwheel, boat, back to the train. All expertly led by Jean and he had tickets, provided an easy relaxed experience.
not a lot of walking - one stroll that is uphill and if you want stairs outside top the tip top of mountain. my father has mobility issues and stayed and watched a provided historical movie near the top while I went up. but otherwise able to walk leisurely from one thing to the next.
don’t surprised if fog and clouds obscure view. Jean provided history, legends, practical info about swiss life and was funny.
great day trip!

Best guide ever
This tour was the best day on our journey. WE had such a wonderful time and saw beautiful Switzerland. I'd really like to express our gratitude to our guide Fayzon, he was so attentive and helpful, as we had a handicapped person with us, and he became part of our family as well as we were his. Very informative and a pleasure to be with. .

To whom Mr. Bell's wine message tolls
This was one of the highlight tours. Our guide Mr. Colin Bell was a wine expert and so knowledgeable for all aspects of the vine and grape agriculture and wine production. His answers to our questions were thoughtfully provide with further explanation as needed. He interaction and knowledge of the wine tasting locations and personnel made for another level of tour information. We would rate this tour as 5 out of 5 for technical content, and knowledge of the region and ability to share this knowledge. The car was very clean and the Mr. Bell was able to provide commentary as he was driving to and from the villages and wineries. This is a tour that my wife and I would definitely recommend.
