3 Days in Bath for Families

Curated by Margot Biggwho earned her M.A. from the University of Bath.

The first time I visited Bath, I was a small child, and I remember it being a fantastic place to be a kid. For one, much of the city is pedestrianized, particularly around main attractions such as the Bath Cathedral and the Roman Baths.

There are plenty of green spaces, with ample room for kids to run around while parents take a bit of time to relax. It’s also a greatly engaging place to teach your kids about history, first-hand. Here are a few suggestions on how to spend three days in Bath with the whole family in tow.

Bring layers as the weather in Bath can be unpredictable.

If you only have time for one thing, make it the Roman Baths.

Day 2

Treat your family to something special on your second day by booking a hot-air balloon flight over Bath. You'll head up high in the sky, taking in views of the city’s iconic attractions while you soar.

Spend the rest of your day exploring parts of Bath you may not have gotten to see on your first day with a hop-on hop-off bus. You can even use this service to head up to the surrounding hills for a picnic with views out over the city.
