Explore the Costa Rican jungle at night on this short guided walking tour in Tortuguero National Park. You’ll join your tour guide after sun set and wander the open trails where you’ll typically spot nocturnal creatures like snakes and frog species, as well as opossums, sloths, lizards, and tamanduas (a type of anteater).

This is a package of 3 activities where you can see the spawning of turtles and more wildlife. The first activity is a canoe tour that starts at 6 am and lasts 2 h 30 min. You can often see alligators, birds and some mammals. Once the activity is over, you can enjoy a delicious breakfast by the river. The other activity is a hike inside the national park that starts at 11 am and lasts 2 hours. This activity is carried out on the jaguar trail and in this place you can see many birds, monkeys and some mammals. The last activity is turtle spawning. Tortuguero is one of the main nesting sites for sea turtles in the Caribbean. This tour will take you to live the wonderful miracle that is the nesting of turtles. Enjoy the experience, see a turtle spawn. This tour is very restricted, since the National Park requires compliance with strict rules in order not to disturb the turtles. This event can be observed in Tortuguero from July to October of each year. This tour takes place at night and lasts approximately three hours. It starts from our office and from there we will walk to the sector of the beach where it corresponds to us to wait to be called by a turtle spotter so that we can go see it. The tour always takes place even if it rains, it cannot be postponed for another day. What to wear? Closed shoes, dark clothing (mandatory), flashlight, something for the rain. Taking photos and videos is prohibited (regulations do not allow the use of electronic devices on the beach, such as cell phones, smart watches, cameras, tablets, etc.).
