Behind this facade lies 2,000 years of history. The ancient city was founded by Herod Antipas in 18 AD and named after the Roman emperor. Plentiful natural hot springs and a warm winter climate quickly established Tiberias as a popular winter resort in ancient times. Rosh Hanikra
