Although El Salvador is a small country, it has several fantastic tourist attractions, including the sleeping giant volcano known as San Salvador Volcano. The volcano is part of El Boquerón National Park, which we invite you to visit. Climbing the volcano is a relatively simple activity that you can do in one day that is also quite entertaining and has breathtaking scenery. Unquestionably, El Boquerón's enormous crater, from which the volcano gets its name, is its main draw. Within the primary crater lies a minor crater known as Boqueroncito. The tour includes ascending the volcano, admiring its craters, taking in the scenery, and, if you'd like, eating some fruits that were gathered from the volcano. This was a great tour! The day was great from start to finish. Josue, our tour guide, was most knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We started our day early, which is a major plus to beat the crowds and traffic, to give you more time to enjoy the volcano summit and lake afterwards. Josue informed us of El Salvador’s history on our drive, which kept us entertained and is now new knowledge I have about this beautiful country. The hike itself is definitely moderate — the start of the hike is steep because of the elevation and had me catching my breath, but then it eases up and the views are incredible, the last 20 minutes are challenging because of the rocks. Anyway, it is doable! Josue allowed us many breaks which helped us on the hike and to reset. Additionally, the top of the volcano is breathtaking and you can cool down with a popsicle or choco-banana for your descent down (bring cash). The restaurant at the lake was also decent, with delicious food and opportunities to take a swim or to rent a jet ski! Highly recommend.

Had such a good time!

I had such a great time during the tour. Carlos was so knowledgeable and I was so impressed with the information he knew about Salvadoran history and economics. We got recommendations of restaurants and places to go to after. He was patient, kind, and funny! I learned so much, I took notes and shared that information with others. We also had delicious lunch and the walking was not strenuous at all.

My family is from El Salvador, but never had taken me to these sites before. I loved the tour! We saw ancient sites, beautiful lake views, and volcanic peaks. I went by myself and truly enjoyed it. You will be driving up a winding mountain so if you get car sick, do yourself a favor and take Dramamine. I highly recommend this tour to see ancient sites and picturesque areas.

Amazing day with an incredible guide.

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely amazing time on this tour led by Osmaro. I was glad the tour didn’t involve a heavy amount of walking, I would say we got around 10,000 steps throughout the tour. In between the stops Osmaro showed how well versed he is with the country’s past, present and future. He answered all of our questions and the other travelers as well. He should really consider a part time gig as a photographer because he had great ideas for spots to take pictures and was always willing to take a picture for us. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and personable. 10/10 I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Our tour guide JC picked us up from our hotel in San Salvador to start our tour on time. The tour guide was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and we learned a lot of history. JC took us to a restaurant for lunch called "Finca Colombia", the food was delicious and the services oustanding. When we arrived to Antigua Guatemala World Heritage Site Day we started our tour and we learned a lot of history from there, our tour guide was called Marcos in Antigua, after we finish in Antigua we come back to San Salvador on the same day with JC our tour guide, it was a long tourday but it was worth it. Highly recommend it.

Our tour guide Lizbeth picked us up from our hotel to start our tour on time. The tour guide was knowledge, professional and we learned a lot of history. The rainbow slide/bike zipline/wings swing were super fun. The Santa Teresa Hotsprings were awesome and relaxing. Our lunch was delicious at La Parilla De Lenha with typical food from El Salvador. highly recommend it.

Fun and engaging tour

We were the only ones on our tour and were able to get a customized experience as a result. Our guide, Eduardo, was knowledgeable and took us to a market where we sampled the local fruits. We didn't want to eat at any of the tourist traps, so he suggested we eat local foods from some food stalls where a festival was being held. It was perfect and just what we wanted. He was also our cameraman and videographer, which was super helpful. Highly recommend this tour!!
