A lovely place to visit
Lots of cobblestone streets. It's hilly. The audio tour is self-guided. My audio app didn't work. That was disappointing.

This gets you where you need to be
This excursion is transportation ONLY. It gets you from point A to point B and back again. Others said that you could've taken a train instead. However, you might not be close to where you want to be and that is a waste of time. Wasting time on vacation is a waste of money. This gets you to where you need to go and back.

Our guide was a delightful young woman. She knew her history of the Medieval City. Were most impressed with how she moved us through the citadel and ended our tour at a very scenic overlook.

  • Admission to the citadel is free, though there’s an admission fee for the castle, ramparts, and Museum of Medieval Torture Instruments. Make the most of reduced-price admission tickets to the Castle and Ramparts during the final hour of the day.

  • Audio guides are available at the castle in multiple languages including English.

  • There are several restrooms, shops, and restaurants in the Citadel, as well as a tourist information office, an ATM, and paid parking outside the city gates.

  • The Citadel is wheelchair accessible, but be aware that there are steps and steep cobblestone lanes that make some areas difficult to access.
