Phenomenal day trip!!!!

Option 1: take train from Paris, stand in long long line, go through like cattle. Option 2: get Nils to see Chartres and have him bring it to life, stop at bakery in town; then to go Versailles - don't wait in the line and get right in, and see all the great sights. ***ALERT my daughters wanted to see the Marie Antoinette cottage and Nils made it happen*** they jogged there, toured quick, and we all made it back in town as planned. Loved it!!

If you can, time your visit for market day on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, which is held on Place Billard near the cathedral.
Chartres has a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and bakeries. Be sure to sample local treats, including Pèlerin and Chartrenser cookies.
Chartres’ narrow lanes and cobblestone streets can make access tricky in places for wheelchairs and strollers. Ask the Tourist Office for alternative routes. The ground floor of the cathedral is fully accessible.
