Hi, I am Mark, your experienced guide and I offer a fun and informative tour, with stories of not just history, but the people who lived in the town and the characters that make the town what it is today. You will start off by meeting ‘Nelson’ our ‘Grand Old Man of the Sea’ and from there we will wind our way through the beautiful harbour town, the hidden backstreets, the quay side and the wonderful bridge ending up at our magnificent beachfront and ‘Banjo Pier’ Along the way learn about the history of the town, its building and its people. See the hidden streets and buildings that you wouldn’t normally see, and hear stories fo the characters that have worked here . The tour is fun, light and informative, and you are free to ask me questions to make the most of your experience. I will recommend local places to eat and drink, and know the area well. Despite being set in the fictional Devonshire town of Shipton Abbott, the TV show Beyond Paradise is filmed in the Cornwall town of Looe. On this small-group guided walking tour, discover the locations seen throughout the series while learning behind-the-scenes filming facts. Wander through the town while taking in notable nearby landmarks, including the historic town center.

West Cornwall has a rich and captivating history going back over 4,500 years to the Bronze Age. On this self-guided audio tour, you’ll follow in the footsteps of some of its earliest inhabitants. While you journey across the landscape, you’ll hear about what drove them to settle, farm and build here, and what their day-to-day lives would have looked like. Our tour starts at Portheras, an impressive round barrow where the remains of cremated dead were laid, and ends at the celebrated stone circle, Tregeseal East. Along the way, you’ll pass well-known and lesser-known sites, including the Carn Kenidjack, which dominates the skyline and offers wonderful views of the western coastline. You’ll also visit an unusual inscribed stone which is possibly the burial place of St Just.

From the seafront, you’ll learn tales of the wreckers who lured boats onto the rocks, shipwrecks around Looe’s coastlines…. to royal navy pressgangs rounding up recruits, it is the Looe you never knew! From ghostly tales of the white hare of West Looe Hill & hauntings at the Jolly Sailor - to trapped souls in the cells of the Old Guildhall… the tour will discover tales of the Town’s darker days. During the tour, you hear about Amran & Jochabed, who lived on Looe Island & used it as a stopping point for their contraband… as well as ‘Battling Billy’ and his kegs of illicit liquor hidden inside coffins.

Come with us to explore ancient churches (One of which is abandoned.), a stone circle where Chris will teach you to dowse for its mysteries, an abandoned bronze age village, a prehistoric fogou and pretty seaside towns. We'll visit some awesome viewpoints, look at fascinating mining heritage and discover some hidden gems. You'll hear stories and songs, a part of Cornwall's rich culture which is still thriving today. I have spent lots of time in Port Isaac, including listening to the Fisherman's Friends singing sea shanties with a beer in hand. I will take you on a walking tour of the village, including the locations used in filming both "Doc Martin" and the Fisherman's Friends movies. See Doc Martin's surgery, Mrs. Tishall's pharmacy, Louisa's school and cottage, Bert's restaurant, and all the other key locations. Visit the village pub used in both shows - maybe even stop for lunch? Stand on the Platt where the shanties are sung. We also visit the tiny coves at Port Quin and Port Gaverne, which also feature as filming locations. The tour can be extended to a full day on request to include visits to places such as Tintagel, Boscastle or Bodmin Moor.
