Day Trips from Coban to Semuc Champey

Considered one of the most popular places to visit in Guatemala, Semuc Champey, located in Las Verapaces, is a lush, tropical park with jungle views, caves, and swimming holes. On this private all-day tour from Coban, get a bird’s-eye view of the natural turquoise pools of the park then take a refreshing dip in the water. Following that, explore Lanquin Caves, which the Mayans used to believe were the entrance to the infraworld (a place that exists parallel to your own). Even now, some Mayan ceremonies still take place there.

Discover Semuc Champey National Park and the Kanba Caves on this all-day tour from Coban. The park boasts a great variety of fauna, with more than 100 species of birds and more than 34 species of mammals, along with unique turquoise waters and natural pools. Before lunch (included), explore the Guatemalan caves by candlelight and learn about the different Mayan communities.
