Noto has become one of the most popular cycling destination in Japan thanks to its huge variety of landscapes and deep cultural heritage. Unfortunately, being a remote rural area, there is yet no facility for independant travelers to rent a good bicycle and enjoy the peninsula the best way possible. I have been living in the Wajima countryside for over 5 years, where I have been learning about local history and culture, while working at a traditional salt farm; and more recently as a local guide and cycling tour guide. Depending on your interests and location, I will bring you to the most rewarding routes for an unforgetable day in Noto. The bicycles are light weighed quality bicycles (Cannondale quick 2). The area is quite mountainaous, so climbing is unavoidable. That means a minimum level of fitness is required. To make the tour accessible to your whole group, e-bikes (or road bikes) can also be available for an extra fee if booked at least 3 days prior.

Guests will journey deep into the hidden region of Nagano known as Akiyamago, a remote mountain valley rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Here, they’ll soak in one of the wildest open-air hot springs in Nagano, where the healing waters bubble up directly from the riverbed — a rare and unforgettable experience. Important Note: The outdoor hot spring may be unavailable during bad weather if the river overflows. In that case, we’ll visit a local indoor onsen instead. The tour also includes a taste of tradition with a hearty bear meat hot pot lunch, called "Kumanabe", a local specialty passed down through generations. On the way back to Iiyama Station, we’ll stop by a local sake brewery, where guests can enjoy tasting some of Nagano’s finest rice wine. Akiyamago is usually closed off in winter due to extreme snowfall that even surpasses ski resorts, but we operate guided car tours to this remote area.

Mt. Fuji is known as Japan's highest mountain but the lower area is also home to a stunning forest below. Our day starts as a hour and a half hike up a gentle slope bringing us to a quiet and gladed area for lunch. Enjoy our locally sourced bento and dip into the Japanese art of forest bathing. The activities are fun and relaxed and are more about enjoying the forest and noticing our surroundings. After our lunch return to the car via a different route. While relatively flat the walk takes us to different areas of the mountain and shows us other areas. The trip includes a private vehicle, lunch and an Onsen at the end of the day.

Don't miss out on some incredible legends of the past! On this tour we share the legends and stories that made Mt. Horaiji a mysterious and sacred pilgrimage site for centuries, while showing you the highlights as locals. We start with a rugged cliff path and its views from the top, then a visit to the shrine of a powerful samurai with many legends to tell. After this we’ll enjoy an included bento lunch while marvelling at the views. After that we visit a lookout through native forest, before going down the stone steps, taking a detour through a quiet part of the temple grounds. On Saturdays we visit the dramatic river nearby instead of one lookout because of public transport. On cloudy days or days with light rain, the mountain still has an amazing atmosphere, but due to the need for extra caution on the steps, we cannot visit one lookout. Join us on an adventure of cultural discovery and natural exploration, where you can hear the legends and stories of Mt Horaiji.

Looking for a unique and easy adventure near Mt. Fuji? Mt. Houei is the perfect choice. Created by the great eruption of 1707, it is Mt. Fuji’s newest and largest crater, where visitors can walk along the rim of a real volcano. The trail begins at Fujinomiya Fifth Station and takes about one hour, making it suitable for beginners, families, and anyone curious about volcanic hiking—no special equipment required. At nearly 2,700 meters above sea level, the views are breathtaking. You can admire Mt. Fuji’s iconic summit, look down into the dramatic Houei Crater, and on clear days, see as far as Suruga Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The striking red and black volcanic rocks and ash-covered slopes create an otherworldly landscape, perfect for photos. The trail is well maintained and gently graded, allowing you to relax and enjoy the walk, whether you love the outdoors or are simply seeking a fun, easygoing adventure. ※This tour is conducted in accordance with Japanese laws and regulations.

Meet your guide at the iconic Tsuzumimon Gate of Kanazawa Station and set off on a running tour through the city. Follow your guide along a route that weaves through historic landmarks and the everyday streets where people actually live. Rather than rushing through tourist spots, proceed at the city's own pace. Izu Local Food Adventure and Wood-Fired Cuisine at Quebico. Explore Izu’s nature with us through our work to sustain its resources. We’ve revived 1,200-year-old trails, once key for village life and charcoal production, turning forests into tourism paths. Our MTB tours use these historic trails; pedal-drive kayaks link sea and mountains. Our lodge, powered by wood biomass boilers, supports sustainable living. At Quebico, our wood-fired restaurant, chefs craft gourmet feasts from foraged herbs, fresh fish, and local treasures like gold-eye snapper, using 100% sustainable firewood we harvest from local forests. Kayak to fish, hike or e-MTB trails to gather yomogi, and visit fish markets and a katsuobushi factory to explore Japan’s rural food culture. This private tour, guided in English, supports Izu’s natural and cultural heritage. Our sustainability efforts were recognized by a Ministry of the Environment award in 2022.
