The vehicles reach an approximate elevation of 3,400 meters above sea level after about 45-50 minutes of off-road driving. Once at the top, there is only a short 45-60 minute walk along relatively flat trails to reach the base camps. Best time: November to April (dry season) to ensure clear skies and full visibility of the crater.
