Bahir Dar is situated on Lake Tana, which is dotted with island monasteries some dating back to the 14th century. Its 30 odd islands represent today a unique natural habitat for plant life. The Blue Nile Falls are a waterfall on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia. They are known as Tis Issat in Amharic when translated, means "smoking water" They are situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 kilometers downstream from the town of BahirDar and Lake Tana.

Day 1- Arrive In Addis Ababa Our driver will pick you up from the airport and take you to your Hotel. Day 2 -Fly From Addis To Bahirdar You will have a boat trip to the Monasteries. After lunch drive out to and visit Blue Nile falls. Overnight in Blue Nile Resort Day 3 -Bahirdar To Gondar After breakfast continue to Gondar. Day 4 -Fly From Gondar To Lalibela You will visit the first group of Lalibela Churches which are located north of a small stream named Jordan River. Day 5- Visit Lalibela After breakfast, have an excursion trip to the cave-built up church of Ne’akuto Le’ab. Day 6 - Fly From Lalibela To Axum Upon arrival, you'll check into your hotel before venturing out to the Northern Stelae field to see the 4th century obelisks that lend the region its name. Day 7 -Axum – Hawzien In the morning you will drive to Hawzien and on the way you will visit Yeha temple. Day 8 - Hawzien – Mekele- Addis Ababa You will visit Abuna Yemata Guh

Bahir Dar is a beautiful lakeside town, and often the first stop on the historic north circuit of Ethiopia. Most people spend a night or two at Bahir Dar, giving you enough time to soak up the city and enjoy the scenery. The most popular thing to do in Bahir Dar is the boat trip out on to Lake Tana, Ethiopia's largest lake. Lake Tana is home to a number of islands, and on these islands sit ancient monasteries with incredible frescoes and wall paintings. Slightly outside of town is the Blue Nile Falls. Most impressive during the rainy season from June to September, the falls are the biggest on the Nile river system.
