We’ll spend 2 hours exploring the Valley of Castles, admiring dramatic rock formations and taking stunning photos. Optionally, for 1,800 KZT, enjoy a safari vehicle ride along the canyon for a unique perspective. Next, we’ll drive 30 minutes to Bartogay Reservoir, spending about 1 hour among its otherworldly landscapes: mirror-like waters reflecting the sky and rugged hills creating a surreal atmosphere — perfect for unforgettable photos. Afterwards, we’ll return to Almaty, a 3.5-hour drive, arriving at your hotel around 5:30–6:00 PM. He'll translate at the Uighur market where he'll buy your bread, samsa, and kurt, and pick fresh produce from the farmers there. Visit Kaindy Lake with its sunken forest, the first Kolsai Lake and the red rock towers of Charyn Canyon in one long day from Almaty. On this private tour, only your group rides in the vehicle with an experienced driver-guide, who also films your day with a drone. Great for adventure seekers, hikers and photographers. We leave Almaty at 5:00 and, after a short stop for tea, coffee and a restroom break, reach Kaindy Lake by late morning. Here the trunks of a flooded spruce forest rise out of turquoise water, and you have time for a walk and photos. In the early afternoon we drive on to Kolsai Lake for a walk along the shore. Then we head to Charyn Canyon: we stop at the Black Canyon and the Moon Canyon viewpoint, and finish at the Valley of Castles. We are back in Almaty around 21:00. Moderate fitness is needed: walks on uneven trails at both lakes and a long day of about 16 hours, much of it on the road. Not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
