Fun and Fabulous tour of Colorful Valparaiso

Lots of walking, lots of stairs, wonderful guides with great stories and background information. We loved this experience, it was a great way to get an overview of the highlights of Valparaiso. As it turned out, we were the only two on the tour so it felt very personalized. Fernandra and Catolina were wonderful. By the end of the tour we felt like we had two new friends and had had a good overview of this very colorful and quirky city.

Tremendous job done by our guide. Really enjoyed it. Explained the street art in detail. Every picture has a story and she knows them all! She knew everything about the area even could point out the pickpocketers!

Fernanda and Kate were a delight. Regardless of the weather (started out raining) they managed the tour very well. They gave good recommendations for after the tour. We got to see the best of Valparaiso during our tour.

Fernanda and Kathy were great guides. We learned so much about Valparaiso, including history, schooling, housing, and the beautiful street art. The time went by very quickly. I’m sure we could have spent twice as long and still wanted more.

Our guide Fernanda has lived most of her life in and around Valparaiso and she has deep knowledge not only of its history but also details and stories about the day to day life of the people past and present. She has an excellent knowledge of the local culture, architecture and the arts and clearly has great pride in her wonderful town. She has excellent English, is helpful, very professional and we could not recommend her highly enough for anyone wanting a great insight into the past and present of Valparaiso.

Small intimate tour that was perfect for our first day in Valparaiso

This was an excellent tour. Fernanda and Kat were so nice and genuine. They didn’t just take us to one site after another but gave us the historical and political context to understand Valparaiso and Chile more broadly. We felt like we could ask them anything and they were happy to give us their real-world perspective of living here. We passed big group tours coming from the cruise boats and I was so grateful that we could have this very personal tour. It was a fantastic thing to do on our first day in Valparaiso and set us up for the rest of our visit.

Fernanda and Kat were amazing tour guides and knew the history of Valparaiso. We would have missed a lot if we had not done this tour. I loved learning the history behind all of the beautiful murals throughout the city. The funicular rides were also a lot of fun and it made it easy to get around the city! I would highly recommend this tour.

A favorite tour ever, of scenic Valparaiso, with wonderful guides

One of our favorite tours ever, with Fernanda and her friend Kat. We got to see, taste and enjoy the essence of Valparaiso, strolling through the various neighborhoods and hills, or cerros. What we visited was fantastic, but what made the tour a favorite was our guides. They were patient with my Spanish and added several new words to my vocabulary, pointing out some of the differences between my (learned) Mexican Spanish and Chilean Spanish. When the tour was over, we enjoyed a simple lunch of homemade empanadas with them. What a wonderful, memorable morning!

This was a fantastic tour! We had asked to see the 'real' Chileans and Valparaiso and we were totally satisfied! The guides, Fernanda and Kathleen, were absolutely the most knowledgeable and friendly. We took a standard group tour later in the day. This tour with Fernanda and Kathleen was far more entertaining and informative. One of our guests said that we should have just extended this tour for another 2 or 3 hours--that's how much fun we were having. Be sure to do this tour if you are visiting Valparaiso--even if you have a tour with you cruise line.
