What a wonderful day we had with Uke in Semarang. The planned stops were very nice and Uke also brought us to a batik fabric shop at my request. It was so nice to be able to customize our tour especially as we saw all the people getting on ad off the huge tour busses. Our lunch stop was so so good! We were served many different dishes to try and we loved each one. It was so nice to have a local meal. This is the way to go and you your will lucky if you have Uke as your guide and Mr Y-U as your driver.

5 hour tour of Semerang city

Short walking tour of old town which was unimpressive, we then went to the big mosque, the 100 windows building which was more interesting , had lunch at a large obviously tourist restaurant and finished at the Chinese temple. Our guide spoke ok English and certainly much better than the poor passengers who opted for a taxi tour. This was not a 6 hour tour- it was only 5. The traffic was bad but could have been worse with the rain. In short, this was not the experience we had in Bali on our private tour. It was Ramadan so maybe that makes evermore tired. I think this port stop might be better if u went to the countryside.

Great experience and good way to see a little of the city in a small amount of time. Our guide and driver were new to guiding tours but worked very hard to make it special for us.

Fabulous Tour of Semarang!

We had a fantastic day with Irfan, as our tour guide. We started the day with a visit to Sam Po Kong Temple, then on to Lawang Sewu Building. Both stops were outstanding and we were not rushed at all. We took many photos and did some shopping. Then we drove up town for a delicious Indonesian lunch. Afterwards, we visited the Great Mosque of Central Java and went up the 19 story Tower to get an overview of the city. Finally we walked through Old Town and purchased a few more goodies! We loved Old Town’s historic buildings and how it is being revitalized with exciting restaurants and shops.
