Bosnian Cooking Lessons

For my birthday, I treated myself to a solo trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina, and one of my favorite and most memorable activities is one I now recommend to anyone planning to visit Sarajevo and that’s signing up for Bosnian Cooking Lessons. From the very first message I received, I immediately felt as though Mersiha was a friend inviting me to her home for a delicious meal. She’s incredibly warm and friendly which made this experience all the more special. I truly appreciated the pick-up and drop-off transfer to and from Mersiha and her husband, Mustafa’s home, which further added to the feeling of visiting a friend for dinner. Mersiha began by walking me through everything we’d be cooking together and showing me how to prepare each dish. She was incredibly patient, answering all my many questions and gently guiding me when my hands weren’t quite delicate enough while assembling the börek haha! I cannot thank Mersiha and Mustafa enough for making this meal so unforgettable and for sharing their wonderful stories. As a solo traveler, I also appreciated Mersiha taking photos throughout the class. It was such a thoughtful touch! I’ll always cherish the dishes we made together and look forward to sharing my newfound knowledge with friends and family. I truly cannot wait to return to Sarajevo and take another class!
