My fiancée and I did the small group river kayaking and we absolutely would recommend using eco tours. We have done lots of tours this trip in Vanuatu but this by far was our favourite. The guides we had were amazing! We could not thank Jackie and Taman enough for the amazing experience.

need to give you a personal thank you for this incredible tour. It was probably the highlight of my visit to Vanuatu and even though I was very inexperienced I really enjoyed the activity and was definitely my favourite thing to do.!! the tour guides were absolutely incredible and informative
Even if you are a beginner, this is very easy and simple to pick up, especially as it was my first time doing it properly on my own. Just do it!!

A relaxing float down a picturesque river. Great for solo travellers. Kayaking was easy and suitable for beginners. Crew were super friendly and organised everything perfectly.

Treated like a king by tour guide Jacky and driver Yollen. I was the only participant the day I joined the tour and I was pampered by these two guys. Kayaking in the Rentapao River should be in everyone’s itinerary in Port Vila. Kudos to the whole team at Ecotours!

We loved this trip. We came in on a cruise stop for the day and were picked up from the port. It was great to escape the crowd, and there were only 6 of us on the river. We loved seeing the smiling locals and learning about the culture from our amazing guides. I would highly recommend it if you want to get off the beaten track.

My partner and I had a brilliant afternoon kayaking with Jackie and Berry. It was just us on the tour so we were lucky to get a private tour! The pick up was right on time, and they stopped at the supermarket so we could get water. The kayaking was calm and tranquil, we paddled past locals swimming and doing washing. We paddled for about 2 hours. We were lucky as the water level was high. Then we had a delicious fruit platter of banana, papaya, grapefruit and banana chips. Delicious! We also learnt a lot about the local area from our guide who spoke great English. Highly recommend this tour!

Great family outing. Choice of single or double kayaks. Tour guides were great. Gave some info about plants & trees along the river and their uses. Beautiful scenery along the river. Water is clear. You can go for a swim or go on the rope swing when you get back if you like. Fruit & drink given at the end plus fish feeding. Hotel pickup available. Life jackets available if you wanted them although some needed replacing.

A must do experience. Tour guides were fantastic. Me and my mother had a great time. We laughed a lot with the tour guides . They were so friendly and helpful. Taught us a lot as well about Vanuatu culture. The river where we kayaked was unbelievable and it’s the water that comes from the blue lagoon. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Vanuatu. We finished up with a nice platter of delicious fruit and lemonade.

My partner and I absolutely loved this. The guides were amazing – we had the benefit of having an additional guide (Jackie or Chakie – unsure) catching a ride for another tour, who gave us the bonus of lots of history along the way. This made it feel like a tour and small history lesson about the place. Our guides were Moroni and his wife, who were just so lovely. Along the river, Moroni had so much to say about the local history, legends, plant life, wildlife and more – we certainly got more than we bargained for. This may be because it was only my partner and I on the tour (score!!) and I believe numbers tend to be higher. We were grateful for such a personalised experience. Moroni was also patient with getting us back up through the one rapid, which required his physical assistance and strength. The kayak ride itself was somewhat physically challenging – wouldn't recommend kids or the elderly going in solo kayaks. The river and spring was absolutely beautiful and so serene, and I was grateful for the exercise.
Overall, all three workers talked highly of Vanuatu Ecotours as an employer and company, and we can see why. They also accommodated us despite our late arrival time by cruise ship.

When you kayaked on Saturday it was a low tide after rain which made the current a bit stronger, normally it is a very quiet river, but the guides are there to assist on days like that! We all love our jobs and enjoy the smiles on our guest's faces at the end of the tour, please come and visit us again!

The guides were exceptional, especially Roy who drove us to the location, he was very knowledgeable and told lots of interesting stories and historical facts.
Kayaking along the river was absolutely beautiful, it was also interesting to see the locals swimming and washing clothes along the banks.
The pineapple severed after kayaking was the nicest pineapple I have ever eaten.
Feeding the fish and seeing the stingray was also great.
It was definitely a highlight of our trip and I would recommend this little adventure to anyone wanting to do something different in Villa.

Excellent guides who just wanted to make sure we had a good time. If travelling with kids. Make sure you do a double kayak as it is too far for little ones on their own.

We had an absolutely incredible time on this tour. Sitting in the back of the car for the ride up to the river was amazing in itself, being immersed in the culture and sights of Port Vila. The river was beautiful, crystal clear and gorgeous to swim in. The kayaking was safe, fun, and there was no pressure to do more than you are capable of. The tour guides were friendly, helpful, and great to talk to. Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us.

Ecotours initially advised that they were unable to accomodate the booking on the initially requested date. I moved ALL of my tours around to accomodate the kayak tour with no issues. Come to the day prior to the booking, they advised that pickup would be at 9:15am. I had not initially seen this and noticed later - around 1pm, when my booking was made for; that they had said this. I called them to advise that my booking was for 1:30pm, not 9:30am. They advised that it was a clerical error on their end and apologized for the mistake.
Come to requesting the refund, they accepted to only refund HALF because they advised that pickup was at 9:15am. This is absolutely not acceptable and some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. This is absolutely a mistake on Ecotours' behalf - it is NOT my job to double check your work.
They have provided the absolute worst experience I have ever seen and I would NOT recommend booking any tours with them.

Despite that we still processed a refund which is an expense to us. It is not appropriate to make reviews of a tour you did not do and this review has been referred to Viator for removal.
