This was a wonderful experience! Our chef, Lom Ang was a terrific host. She guided us through the market, explaining what traits she looks for in fresh food and herbs/spices. The food was delicious and so fresh. In particular, the yellow chicken curry was incredible!

It was great fun. I went to the Market with Chef LomAng and bought all the ingredients from stalls, returning to the restaurant where tables wer laid out ready for us to cook. Everything was clear and explained very well. Cooked 3 lovely courses. A lovely experience.

The class was great but I was the only person. The food was excellent. Since iw as alone, I asked if my driver could join me to dine but they said no. It would've been nice just to not eat alone and throw away half of the food.

    Amazing class

Going to the market was a wonderful experience. We bought all our produce for the class and the food was excellently prepared. Our chef showed us how to prep all our veg and then how to cook our meal. Her English was understandable, for the most part.

    A superb Cambodian culinary experience!!

A fantastic experience - From buying the ingredients at a local market, preparing the dishes, and then eating what we cooked. This was a well organised event. To top it all, we were given the list of ingredients as well as the recipes, so that we can cook at home. A superb Cambodian culinary experience!!

Very nice experience. Starting with buying ingredients on the local market then cooking our own lunch. Finally taking our food to a table in the restaurant and everything together with our team members. Staff were very friendly and helpful ☺️

    Fun, would recommend

Really Fun, went to the market and received guidance on vegetables to buy. Accompanied to buy all ingredients to use, and possible substitutes in our own countries. Cooking class involved thr teacher's demonstration and having individual stoves and pots to cook our own portion. Really fun.

    Great cooking experience.

Took a tutu to Banana Kitchen. The chef greet n pass over the ingredients list n explained. We were then brought to Khumer local to shop for ingredients by tutu which included in the fee paid. Upon returned, the chef, explain ingredients required for each dish at a time, demo how to cut n participants will do like wise after she is done. Then the same is for cooking. She teaches all & we practice. The fish A Mok is really gd, the banana dessert is a bit too sweet for me, but I guess we can cut the sugar. Gd hands on cooking experience. & u get to eat a fill meal of what u cooked.

    Great Cookery Class

Great experience from start to finish

This was a great experience from start to finish. The experience is well organized. You start at the meeting where you are given a list of ingredients then shuttled to the local (BKK market) where you by your food items from a handful of stalls. (Don't worry, the process is overseen so if you need assistance, it's right there). After ingredients acquired its time to head back to the classroom to prep and cook your food. They guide you the entire time and can help you at any point. The best part - you eat your freshly prepared meal at the end. The meal is delicious! Well run. Great experience. I highly recommend.

Top notch. Very professionally run, great staff and tranquil surroundings. A must do!

Highly Recommend. The cooking school was part of an amazing boutique hotel tucked away in a quiet street. When entering the premises, you were greeted by friendly staff and an amazing sense of tranquility, surrounded by lovely gardens. After our tuk-tuk ride to select our fresh ingredients and expert cooking class, I enjoyed a massage at their spa. Great experience and well worth it. They also have a great restaurant opposite, but I didn't have to the time to try.

    Fun and tasty cooking class

    Mamie_C, Aug 2024
It was a wonderful wonderful tasty experience! Chef Peark Lom Ang was a great teacher. She took us to the wet market to buy all of the fresh ingredients to make the meal. It was refreshing to see the actual market. Then it was back to the Banana Cooking School to wash, peel and cook what we bought at the market. The kitchen in the school was beautiful, we cooked with relax music in the background with the chef and her staffs. The instructions were really easy to follow and we ended up with a three course meal with fresh spring roll, chicken curry and banana dessert. My finished curry dish was the best I have ever eaten ( and I eat a lot of Asian food)! It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this fun activity. You won’t regret it!

    Fun and enjoyable Cooking Class

This was an amazing tour of the market and experience to make our own dishes, which tasted amazing despite that we were the chefs. It was fun and relaxing time, and the chef was very patient and showed us how to perform each step so that it was easy to follow along. HIghly recommend.

    100% recommend

Absolutely book this experience! Chef LomAng was an amazing teacher and the food was truly delicious. She showed us around the market and helped us pick out ingredients, and a full recipe for each dish was provided for us to take home with us as well. We made spring rolls, fish amok, and banana palm. We can’t wait to make these dishes for our friends and family when we get back to the US :) Thanks so much, Chef LomAng!!

    Wonderful Experience

I am so glad that I took this cooking class. The instruction was very detailed and the food was fantastic. I would encourage anyone who is interested in cooking to take a class with Banana Cooking School.

Fabulous instructor and delicious food at The Banana Cooking School

    Bindy_W, Apr 2024
Great fun and learnt how to cook my favourite Fish Amok, plus rice paper rolls and banana caramel. Chef Lom Ang from the Banana Cooking School is an excellent teacher. We shopped in the local market, which is always very colourful and full of interesting smells ( some not so good). Then back at Le Rose to cook. I was lucky enough to have the morning session all to myself. Thanks Lom Ang and your team at the Banana Cooking School.

    Tasty and memorable cooking class

Our chef director was very good. Market shopping was interesting but the real treat was food preparation. All the staff helped us have a terrific experience. The food we prepared was delicious and plentiful. The accommodations for the entire affair was quite nice. We were a small group so it felt like we were treated even more special. Recommend experience.

    A must do 😁

Wonderful experience in Phnom Penh and I highly recommend. Kitchen is set up in lovely clean boutique hotel facilitated and hosted by a professional team of staff. Fun experience with local market visit for fresh produce and a delicious menu prepared to enjoy. I also highly recommend booking into the hotel’s day spa, best massage in PP!

Wonderful experience in a classy environment!

    Peter_M, Jan 2024
What a great experience! I feel confident in buying from the markets now. Air conditioned, top class facilities, great recipes! My accomplice said the main course was the best he had eaten in the 10 days we’d been here (I agree). Chef Lom Ang Peark was so good to work with. I’ve taken cooking classes in Vietnam, Thailand and Bali (Indonesia) and this one is right up with the best!

    This is a great experience

    Sam_V, Jan 2024
Great experience. Especially if you have kids. The staff was great. Especially the head teacher (pictured here). Please take this trip. The visit to the market to pick the ingredients is also a nice experience. Very well planned

Great day learning how to cook Khymer!

    Blair_N, Nov 2023
The recipes were simple yet traditional Khymer. The instructor was experienced and very helpful. It was a bonus that the people we cooked with were interesting and fun!

Great recipes, great cultural experience, recommended 100%

    Ted_W, Nov 2023
We started with a fun little tuk tuk ride to a _local_ market for some shopping. Then we got into prep and cooking. I received clear directions and the reasons for those directions. Although I cook a lot back home. I feel like the instructions were appropriate for inexperienced Cooks as well. I got a lot of great cultural context and conversation beyond just the recipes, which really made the class worthwhile for me.
