Our guide, Thorstein, was delightful and as a current student his comments felt personal and up close.

So informative and interesting. Alex was a wealth of information! She had a great attitude even with the questionable weather 🙂

Our guide Will was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.

Everything was excellent, tour guide was exceptional and kept a great rapport with the group. Only negative was our own fault as weather turned unexpectedly cold and the tour is 90% outside. Very glad we took this tour and had the experience.

Our guide, Elena, was wonderful. Her knowledge and life experience at Oxford University were wonderful for our tour.

Jasper was very knowledgable and enthusiastic about Oxford’s history. He projected his voice well among the cacophony of trucks, buses, tourists, workers, and other tour groups nearby.

We learned a lot about the Oxford University campus. Alex was a very knowledgeable guide who paced the walk well. Kudos to him for a job well done.

This was a very interesting and fun 2-hour walking tour led by Freddy, a current master’s student at the university. We visited several colleges and a chapel and learned about the history and architecture of the university. I would highly recommend as a pleasant way to get to know the city and university.

Rohit explained everything so clearly. I honestly thought it might be boring, but he made it fun and engaging. So glad to have had him as our guide. Walking through the streets and learning about the history of Oxford was such a lovely experience.

Shree was an amazing tour guide! I highly recommend this tour and Shree as a tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and I loved her perspective as a current student. My 15 year old daughter left truly inspired.

Sam Day was a phenomenal guide and storyteller. What a treat to have an alumni speak from their own experience and lore of the colleges. I adore a guide who makes history come alive.

Our host was very kind and knowledgeable about the history of Oxford - it was nice to hear what student life is like, as well.

Walk aground key site with lots of history of the city and sights explained. We enjoyed and the weather helped
Michael_W, Mar 2026
Our guide, Rebecca was awesome. She was funny, informative and very entertaining. The tour size was way too large, 18-20 people and hard to hear with all the other tours around.
FAllan_H, Mar 2026
Insightful tour of Oxford by Nicola, a recently minted PhD in medieval history. Nicola provided access to college interiors and exterior quads. His narrative provided important historical and social context, adding to our understanding of Oxford’s 800 year history. The tour was well paced and engaging. We enjoyed it immensely!
Meghana_I, Mar 2026
Our tour guide Eloise was wonderful! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history and traditions of Oxford, and she added many anecdotes and stories, including some of her own experiences as an Archaeology student. We truly enjoyed our day!!
David_M, Mar 2026
Sam was very informative and brought the tour to life with many witty Anecdotes. We all really enjoyed the tour.

Me and my family had a wonderful tour with tour guide Nick. He is so knowledgeable. We have a great time.
Carol_H, Mar 2026
The majority of the tour is outdoors so dress appropriately. We had glorious sun for ours which made a big difference. Our guide, Elena, was brilliant, very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the buildings. She was willing to answer any questions and gave lots of interesting extra details.
I would recommend this tour and the guide we had. It was easy to book online but it would be useful to know that you need a wristband to join the tour group.

We enjoyed this tour of the university with Sam Day. We passed by several key spots within the city centre, and Sam kept us engaged with information about Oxford generally, as well as stories about notable alumni and professors, and British history generally - even our teens enjoyed it. He was also great with pace and questions. Thanks again Sam!

Very informative, friendly. I am a big fan of tours not only do you get the facts but the stories make it interesting and often add humour
OllieP_S, Mar 2026
The tour guide was very friendly and approachable. It was nice to be guided by someone who has a genuine passion for local history. If you're interested in learning more about Oxford's history or just want to explore its beautiful architecture, I would definitely recommend this tour.

Our teens said this tour was “fire”. This was after coming straight from 26 hours of travel without any sleep! Devon, a 4th year Oxford student, did an excellent job keeping us engaged giving both history and fun current stories about Oxford. He spoke clearly and articulately allowing us to later have a fun conversation with our kids on what “the big words” he used meant. Can’t wait to hear about Devon’s involvement creating the cure for drug-resistant tuberculosis!

We went on a tour yesterday with Sam who was an excellent guide and kept us entertained for two and a half hours. We learnt so much about the history of Oxford and the college system. You can see he really enjoys doing the tours and he was a wonderful young man in all respects, engaging, respectful and a great ambassador for Footprint tours. See you at Fratton Park one day Sam!

We had a great experience on our walking tour of Oxford University, led by Shree, a current PhD student! She had an incredible depth of knowledge on the history of the university, we were very impressed with how she remembered the names of countless historical figures, scholars, and alumni without hesitation.
We also appreciated her flexibility as we were late in arriving due to traffic, and she graciously waited on us before beginning. She also allowed us to pop into a gift shop mid-tour to do a little shopping, so she was very accommodating to our needs.
Overall, this tour was a fantastic way to learn about the university, and we highly recommend to anyone visiting Oxford. Shree was very passionate, knowledgeable, and thoughtful which made our experience very memorable.
