Our tour guide Nick was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable, professional, and funny. He made sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the tour. He had such a great personality which made the tour so much fun. The tea and food provided was delicious! The best scones I've ever had! I left the tour knowing a great deal more about Oxford and would love to visit again! It was the perfect way to start our day, and I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a relaxing yet fun tour!

This was an easy, enjoyable tour and the added benefit of afternoon tea completed the experience. Absolutely loved it.

Duncan was our skipper and was very competent with some interesting stories and friendly demeanour. Our travelling companions were delightful. The tea was very good. We really enjoyed the trip even though the weather was cool.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the River cruise- the food was delicious and the views were beautiful.

It was a very beautiful, calm and scenic cruise through Oxford. The food and tea was delicious. The boat was not crowded, giving us the opportunity to enjoy the autumn vibe and colours fully. Definitely a must do when in Oxford!

They were very nice!! Unfortunately, I missed the cruise, but they were so kind to offer a rescchedule and make the afternoon tea inside! I will come back for sure!! Thank you for your kindness

We had a great guide who was very good at what he was doing. Though there wasn't much sightseeing but it was a very lovely day with lots of sunshine, perfect for a river cruise. Our guide was also very engaging. And yes, the scones were very nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, catching up and experiencing a relaxing cruise along the river in Oxford. The tour guide Dexter was great, a young, charming and bright Oxfordian to lead the tour. The sandwiches and scones were exquisite, and we had plenty of tea choices.
Kim_W, Sep 2025
Nick was entertaining and we got a great view of Oxford from the river. He also shared stories and information along the way. The tea (food) was simply outstanding!

Our tour was full of interesting information about the history of Oxford as well as the city itself. We stopped and were able to get off the boat to look at the bridges and locks a bad he answers all questions for us with no hesitation. Great tour recommended for everyone

What a wonderful experience. First the weather was perfect. A lovely boat ride on the Thames. Great scenery and excellent tea, sandwiches, scones and sweets. Well worth the price.

Loved this boat trip! Even though it rained part of the time, they have enclosures to keep you dry. And when the sun came out, we rolled them up and enjoyed the open air!

Very relaxing and enjoyable. Louis was informative and pleasant the entire trip. The food was good. It was a good choice after the 3.5 hour walking tour of Oxford University. It was the perfect pick me up.

Better than expected. Skipper Nick was funny, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and the sail was perfect

We had a fantastic time, our skipper Henry was very knowledgeable and put a fun twist to his stories. The food was delicious and the cruise itself very pleasant. The scenery around the Thames is very beautiful.

Had the best afternoon of high tea on the Thames! Every bite from the sandwiches to dessert was amazing. Skipper Nick was so friendly and full of great stories (and his dog totally stole the show). Perfect mix of yummy food, gorgeous views, and good vibes.

Staff at the restaurant before going in the boat were friendly and helpful. Nick our skipper and guide mixed humour and facts during the trip and when then was no need for talking he played some restful music. There was 12 people on the trip and a 20 min stop at Iffley Lock to have a walk around. The afternoon tea was good with a choice of different teas or coffee bags scones were great. Scenery was lovely and nice to see a different side of Oxford. Nick also informed us of other things we could see or do . Do have to be careful about getting on the boat and there are steps to get down from the restaurant to the pier. A lovely afternoon even though the weather was cloudy.

Excellent. Great tour and highly recommend. Knowledgeable guide and perfect pace. Great high tea too.
Robert_M, Jul 2025
As advertised, this is a very relaxing and enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes on the Thames. Our captain was affable and knowledgeable, pointing out the various buildings and houseboats along the way. Passed through one lock. Tea, mini-sandwiches and scones were delicious. Many ducks and geese eager for handouts. The boat has electric propulsion, so very quiet and no fumes. We were blessed with excellent weather, which added significantly to the enjoyment.

Had a very lovely afternoon cruise and high tea! Food, tea and coffee were all wonderful and our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable! Had a wonderful afternoon!

Lovely trip, scrummy tea and great boat driver with engaging and interesting commentary - well worth while
Sara_T, Jul 2025
Very pleasant, fun and informative. The tea was good and so was the tour. It was a cloudy day with some brief episodes of rain but no problems. Iffy locks was VERY picturesque..
Jonathan_A, Jun 2025
The food was solid and the weather was wonderful. The actual tea was a bag in water rather than brewed which was disappointing. The “tour” was disappointing as well with no narration of what we were seeing or the history.
Kerri_H, Apr 2025
Great snacks, nice boat ride. Highly recommend - two activities in one. Tour guide was very informative.
Paul_M, Sep 2024
The trip was beautiful and very well organised . We were given alternatives in relation to the route. The food was lovely and we were made to feel very much at home and relaxed
John_F, Aug 2024
Unfortunately, this event did not rise to expectations. We begin with the fact that there is no parking close to the restaurant. As two in our party have mobility issues, this started the day on a bad note. The morsels on the tea tray were fine but actually, it amounted to one sandwich per person, cut into quarters, a macaroon per person, two scones per person with Devon cream & a pot of jam, and a few other sweet items...nothing near what one would expect of a tea costing what this tea cost. The trip was uneventful. We were not treated to any facts along the journey, it was just a slow, rather boring ride on the river without passing any historical interest. We wanted to share this with family who flew in for the week but we were disappointed with what turned out to be a lack-lustre experience. So...no, we will not return nor will we recommend it.

Enjoyed hearing the history aspect of the river and Oxford. We also enjoyed the lovely tea supplied and the good choice of sandwiches and pastry.
Barbara_E, Aug 2024
Lovely slow paced , narrated trip on the river . There was a rowing regatta under way and it was a beautiful sunny day. Tea and tea sweets and sandwiches were delicious.
Kim_B, Aug 2024
Enjoyable boat ride and tea. I would have given it a 5 but the vegetation covered up a lot of the sites along the route. But still a very enjoyable trip with a great guide,
