Itinerary

Start with 9am pickup at your accommodations in Ouarzazate, then make the first stop of the day in the Taourirt kasbah, a maze of earth-colored walls, houses, and fortifications that’s served as a backdrop for Hollywood movies such as Gladiator, and Prince of Persia. If desired, you can pause to explore the kasbah on your own, with time to visit the Cinema Museum before you meet back up with your driver.

Continue to the Atlas Film Corporation Studios to see movie sets and hear stories from Ouarzazate’s film history, from the 60s-era Lawrence of Arabia to the desert scenes from Game of Thrones. After visiting the film studios, head out of the city into the desert, with a stop to get panoramic views of desert and snow-capped peaks from the city walls.

Drive to the scenic Oasis Fint, where you can visit a local family home for a traditional lunch, then take in the palm groves with a local guide. This is the perfect place to learn about daily life in one of Morocco’s desert oases, from ancient Berber traditions to modern life and culture. This 7-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your Ouarzazate hotel.
