The tour experience overall was okay.
We got picked up at our hotel with a small bus. With about 10 other people we headed towards the port. We were already excited that the tour was really a „small group tour“.
Then we arrived at the port and got on board with people from another small bus. With about 25 people we headed towards the first island for snorkeling. So, it was not really a small group anymore.
The snorkeling equipment is really good!
At the island also other boats arrived and about 100 tourists (!) entered the waters. The corals at the first island were already dead (obviously), which makes a lot of sense when everyday hundreds of tourists and several boats come here and enter the area without any further instructions. „Don’t touch or stand on the corals!“ - nope, that was not said once..
My highlight / lowlight was that several people couldn’t even swim! They were packed into swimming vests and then they entered the water so they could still ‚enjoy‘ the snorkeling. (I mean: what the…?!).
We continued our trip to our second spot, Mun Island. Again, several other boats arrived together with us and ~100 tourists were allowed to enter the water in a marked area. This time there was more sea life.
After the second spot we had lunch on boat, which was pretty good actually.
At the last stop only our boat stopped and we could snorkel in the open sea and see many corals, fish, sea snakes (harmless ones), etc.
In between the stops the guides also offered scuba diving and para sailing, which could be booked additionally.
Overall, the snorkeling experience itself was pretty cool, especially for people who have never snorkelled before.
Also, the guides are pretty chill and was to get along with.
But it’s not a small group tour and the way ‚wild tourists‘ are unleashed on marine life is questionable. We shouldn't be surprised if in a few years all the coral reefs are as dead as the first one we saw, when there is absolutely no instructions on what to do and not to do.

unfortunately I can't put 0 otherwise I would have done it! the dive site actually has a lot of fish but that's the only positive point and also the guide who picks you up is very friendly! a beach of slippery stones, filled with rubbish, we swim with dozens or even hundreds of people over 20m2! the site is really not pretty at all. meal on the boat quite simple, be careful they offer you coke or beer but it's 20,000!! no coffee or tea either! the second dive site is even more horrible, you are next to a recycling center (see photo). I really regret my money!!! first time with Viator but it will be the last. I understand that other agencies on the internet do not offer this tour, it's a pure and simple scam. really very disappointed.

The guide was very nice, beautiful corals and fish, they gave us good equipment, lunch was ok.
The problem was that it took us pto places with lots of tourists, we had to wait for a while after we got to the harbor and wait a lot for our pick up after. This is not a speed boat! It’s a very slow boat, it took a long time to get from island to island, we got sea sick and as i saw few other passengers as well

We were collected from our hotel by our guide at 9:15am for air conditioned bus ride to the port.
Our group of 25 who had chosen English language guide were from a mix of nationalities including American, Japanese and South Korean.
It was quite chaotic at the port with several boats trying to dock and guides, many dressed in matching company T shirts shepherding their newly collected groups onto the correct boats.
The boats were sturdy slightly rustic wooden vessels made in a traditional style but well designed for these tours.
We cruised out of harbour in a melee of wooden tour boats, traditional fishing boats and tourist speed boats. But soon the boats separated out with the three from our company travelling together. It seems that the different companies have agreed to visit the reefs in different sequence to reduce overcrowding.
We passed through fishing boat moorings and some floating rafts associated with the seafood industry and then past a couple of tourist spa and holiday camp islands and after 45 minutes reached our first snorkeling spot where we had an hour of snorkeling giving us opportunity to get used to our equipment and to see a good number of colourful fish and a small amount of slightly degraded coral.
There was also an option of paras ending at additional cost.
The snorkeling equipment was of very good quality and we were able to free dive without getting water in the pipe. Less confident swimmers were encouraged to use life jackets and to stay on the surface.
After a further 30 minutes on board we arrived at a beach. There was very little coral here but myriad fish of many colours and sizes. We spent a further hour in the water here swimming and diving amongst them. We found a couple of long thin trumpet fish and some black sea urchins with very long spines and many black and white fish.
When we boarded the boat the seating rows had been converted into a table and was laid with a cloth and a delightful seafood buffet including fresh tuna, prawns, spring rolls, rice and noodles.
Forty-five minutes later we arrived at our final location off a third island. The water was deeper here with less fish but still a good number alongside starfish and an eel. The highlight was the coral which the children and I were able to dive down to examine more closely.

The boat staff where lovely, but the snorkeling was bad. The water was dirty and there were heaps of boats with heaps of people. Some boats where playing loud music which you should not do if you want fishes around! The islands where we stopped were full of rubbish.

The best thing was our tour guide (Ba). He spoke English fairly well and we had a lot of fun. The snorkeling places were amazing, had lots of different fish and sea life. Weather was great too.
Towels and food/drinks were provided.

The boat trip took a bit to get going. We waited for 30 minutes after the tour was suppose to start. The boat trip was ok. The first snorkel spot on Mun island was spectacular. We have snorkeled in a lot to places and this one was top notch. A lot of beautiful coral and plenty of fish to see. We had a very Vietnamize and good lunch. The second snorkeling spot wasn’t work getting wet for, but you also had the option to parasail or jet ski there for not much money. And they got us back to the dock when they said they would Overall we really enjoyed our day.

We were disappointed with our snorkeling tour. The boat was not ready and we had to wait on the dock for over 60 minutes. A speed boat was provided to get us to our boat so we were not behind in the tour. The boats tied off together which made for way too many snorkelers together in one area. Hard to see anything as we kept crashing into everyone else. The actual snorkeling was not great either. Not much to see.

Okay. If you are looking for an affordable way to snorkel at Fun or Mot Island, this is it. The tour guides are friendly and rather helpful. Booking the tour online is easy. And they do have people responding fast to your questions. Mind you this boat tour is not as "deluxe" as the pictures show. There is definitely no sunbathing on the top deck of the boat, not on the boat I was on anyway. And the "small group" means about 25 people on the same boat. While the water around the two islands are clean, but there were too many fish on the day I visited.

Overall good value for Snorkeling and lunch. The guides were OK, however the sites on the reef were crowded w/ many boats--- thus too many snorkels and divers in 1 spot--
Also the reef was either dying or dead--- very little color. Lunch was Vietnamese tasty! Would probably not snorkel at that location again.
