We had an absolutely fantastic personalized tour of Manchester with Kevin. He tailored the experience around the music history we love—especially pivotal older bands like The Smiths—and brought us to iconic spots such as the Salford Lads Club. We were lucky enough to come in one of the days a week they were open, getting to go inside and see the amazing work they continue to do for young people in the community. Standing outside where the famous album-cover photo was taken was such a special moment, and Kevin added so much depth and context to it.
Beyond the music history, Kevin gave us a rich understanding of industrialization and how deeply it shaped the city—from the processing of cotton to the lasting importance of the worker bee symbol. He pointed out unique historical sites, shared great recommendations for additional places to explore, and even spent extra time with us to make sure we had the best experience seeing as many sites as possible. We left falling in love with the city…feeling inspired, informed, and incredibly grateful. If you want a tour that brings together the soul of Manchester’s music scene with the story of how the city came to be, we wholeheartedly recommend booking with Kevin. Be sure to take the time to share your interests in advance so they can personalize the trip to you as Kevin did for us.

Our guide Roy was amazing! He was so so knowledgeable and crafted our tour to include what we were interested in and more!

Highly recommend! Darren was a delight as a tour guide and provided lots of inside information on the music scene. We saw a lot of sights and visited two wonderful pubs for some local beer. Definitely a great way to spend time in Manchester1

Just very disapponted for the price it was a total scam. The guide was very nice however the course content was showing the outside of a few music venues, a instrument store and a record shop. I was expecting to learn about the Manchester Music scene and can say I know very little more than when I started.
Hopefully no one buys this as you are really throwing your money away. Oh we did get 2 pints each.

When Viator and this tour operator says "this is a private tour" they are not kidding. This is the truest to that sentiment of any tour we've taken before. they asked us a series of questions and listened perfectly. They matched us with a perfect guide (Roy) who was not only a life long local to the Manchester area he was local to the very neighborhoods that we wanted to visit. It was so much more than we could have expected! It is a must if you are into the Manchester music scene.
