Very good from the moment we boarded with an enthusiastic younger 'captain' who had not been in the job for that long BUT he was very informed & volunteered all sorts of great facts. Beautiful day: taken to the 3 rivers including The Gorge area (fascinating history). Took about 50 minutes: timing spot on for this type of cruise: we went on the 10.30am which was not packed: they have these hourly. Great value for money and again another super Viator outing on our travels. Well worth the time & money whilst you are in Launceston. We rate this highly

My wife and I thought this was well organised, and well executed.
Very informative and friendly Captain 👨✈️ who will even rescue a hat overboard.
Worth every dollar.

I found it very Interesting coming from Hobart. The rise and fall of the tide blew us away. The Harry O May that came to Hobart when the bridge went down. Wonder what happen to her after she finished the Bruny Island crossing.

Very relaxing. Easy Access. Great photo opportunities. Very educational. Very informative of other activities in the area. Is only short but still worthwhile.

It gives you a good look up and down the river and takes you into the first part of the. Cataract Gorge (note to get to the main part you have to either drive or walk in) - so worth it, we almost made the mistake of not driving over … the First Basin is by far the spectacular part of the gorge.
Commentary on the tour was informative and interesting - with some humor injected. Good way to spend 50 mins - especially on a sunny day!

I booked cruise tickets using Viator. The app was fast & easy to use and the details of the event, location and ticket collection were accurate.

Unfortunately we paid for a cataract gorge cruise and we never went there. We just did a cruise up and down the river.
We understand it was due to inclement weather, however there was no correspondence from the tour operator to advise us of this.
We found out after the cruise started.
We wouldn't have paid 80 dollars for the experience we had
Response from Host, Nov 2024
Unfortunately due to severe flooding in Launceston, we rarely, yet occasionally are unable to venture the full length of the Gorge opening. However, we don't cancel our operation as we believe seeing her in flood is spectacular also

Your booking arrangements spoiled the whole experience.
Australian experiences should be priced and offered in $A
Response from Host, Jun 2024
Thank you for taking the time to review.
Although your rating is to do with Viator(the company you booked through) not the cruise experience itself.

Such a beautiful experience and staff were very helpfu.l and pleasant.only downfall was the arctic weather, should have packed some thermals.
Response from Host, May 2024
Thank you for your review.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise

The gorge was beautiful and worth seeing. It’s only a short trip as the part of the gorge that can be accessed by boat isn’t very long. We went back to walk further into the gorge which is well worth doing
Response from Host, May 2024
thank you for reviewing your trip.
You are correct! There are 3 sections to the Catarct Gorge, we venture up where they discovered the catarct Gorge, the other two sections are only accessible via walking trails.
