It’s an excellent and relaxing way to spend four hours in the care of a helpful, courteous and informative crew. We learned a lot about the colourful history of Launceston and the surrounding area of the Tamar river while enjoying some wine-tasting and a light lunch. It was good value for money and we would definitely recommend it for tourists and visitors to Launceston.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience.

Excellent Tamar River cruise.

Francis_B, Jan 2025
Our 4 hr morning cruise was canceled and a 2 and a half hour cruise was substituted. According to the Tamar cruise company they have a maintainance issues that needs to be done. The office just refunded me some money before we boarded. The staff and crew's are very polite and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise experience. The cruise started on time and we had a very good commentary. The afternoon tea was sufficient. The food was excellent Lisa looked after us very well. We recommend this cruise to all to experience.

Disorganised, overcrowded, expensive.

Stella_M, Jan 2025
This tour was: • disorganised. Our ticket gave the Launceston Tennis Club as the meeting point prior to departure. I did not receive a response to my email of the previous day until after we had set out for the meeting point. When we rushed to the correct meeting place after receiving an SMS from the tour operator, no apology was offered. • overcrowded. Due to overbooking some passengers had to stand for the duration of the cruise - four hours. • activities. The wine tasting is not informative but only an excuse for a few drinks. Lunch is a pile of sandwiches although some passengers did receive their requested optional meals. Save your money and only go on a short cruise which includes the impressive Cataract Gorge and the Batman Bridge.

Wonderful 4hour Tamar Cruise

Mandy_C, Jan 2025

Sit back and Enjoy!

Susan_C, Dec 2024
The boat was well laid out and comfortable. Callum gave an informative commentary sprinkled with fun facts. The two other staff on board were friendly and attentive, and kept the brewed coffee topped up! Morning tea and lunch were great. A lovely way to spend 4 hours!

Great crew , easy...

Keith_C, Dec 2024
Great crew , easy booking, and parking , the capttain was fountain of information, yet the conversation seemed more about the value if property and very little or nothing about the indigenous peoples.

Great tour - highly recommend.

Melinda_V, Sep 2024
The tour was excellent, the tour guide/captain provided lots of local information on the history of the area and current land use. The catering provided was good.

Response from Host, Nov 2024

Pleasant cruising

Monique_N, May 2024
Great commentary and the staff were excellent. We enjoyed learning more about the history of the region. There was plenty of food with morning tea and a selection of rolls for lunch and a local wine and beer tasting. A very pleasant trip.

Response from Host, May 2024

Thank you for your lovely review. I am glad to see you enjoyed your time here with us.

Relaxing, informative.

Juliet_D, Mar 2024
Cataract Gorge and information regarding river wildlife. One regret is that the exterior seating at the rear of the boat has been done away with. When I did this river trip March 2023, the seating was there. It was a wonderful experience to sit there at times during the trip. I recommend that you restore this seating!

Response from Host, Apr 2024

thank you for your review. the seating was removed due to other reviewers complaints of the engine noise on the back deck. We will reintroduce the option of back deck seating now that we have received this feedback. Thank you

Response from Host, May 2024

Not worth the money!

Nicole_P, Feb 2024
The guide was quite knowledgeable, the cruise was boring and they over sold the food. It was a few muffins and fruit cake followed by focaccias and a bit of cheese, you also had to pay for alcohol . Definitely not worth $150 pp

Response from Host, May 2024

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. Unfortunate you didn't enjoy the beautiful Tamar Valley and Cataract Gorge. One of our biggest feedback is that we are of good value for money, so I am sorry you don't feel that way. I hope you return one day so we can reset your opinion :)

Great river cruise

Karyn_M, Feb 2024
Captain Callum was so knowledgeable and welcoming Crewman Oliver made sure we were well catered for Just a pity the toilet was very smelly An automatic air freshener would be nice

Response from Host, May 2024

Thank you for taking the time to review. Unfortunately marine toilets are very fickle and their may have been an issue that day. Bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between every cruise. It is also equipped with an air freshener, we will be sure to change the batteries!

We had a wonderful time, the Captain was full of information, the crew were very attentive to our needs and the lunch was delicious, muffins and fruit cake for morning tea, then a wine and beer tasting, followed by lunch which was an assortment of focaccias and subs, the fruit, cheeses and crackers.

The weather for our trip was wet and cold. But this didn’t affect our day. Both staff members Lynn, and Laura, were informative and welcoming. The food and wine were plentiful and very appetising. A great way to spend a cold and rainy day in Launceston. Many thanks

Very relaxing. Catering was well done. The captain gives some commentary on the history of the area which is interesting but there is still plenty of time to chat or just be still.
