- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- CHECK-IN: Please arrive at our office (180 Powderhorn Ln) 30 minutes prior to your trip time. We run a strict schedule to catch the river window; late arrivals will miss the bus!
- WHAT TO WEAR: You will get soaked! Quick-drying synthetics are essential (swimsuits, rash guards, polyester). Absolutely no cotton, denim, or hoodies—when wet, they make you cold and heavy. Secure shoes are mandatory (sport sandals with heel straps, old sneakers, or water shoes). No flip-flops, Crocs, or bare feet. Wetsuits and booties are available for rent at our office (highly recommended for cooler days).
- WEATHER POLICY: We raft rain or shine! In the small boat, you are going to get wet regardless of the weather. We provide free splash gear at the launch to help cut the wind/water, but come prepared for the elements.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an active paddling trip. All guests must be able to paddle and hold on through whitewater. Not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with serious back/heart conditions.
- FOREST SERVICE FEE: Please be prepared to pay the $3 Bridger-Teton National Forest user fee at check-in. This applies to all guests ages 16 and older.
- AVAILABILITY: Inventory changes daily. If you don't see your time slot, or if this trip sounds too aggressive for your group, please contact Lewis & Clark River Expeditions directly. We can help you book a Private Boat or switch you to our "Classic Whitewater" trip (paddle-assist optional).

I had hit a few rapids in Colorado, but this was my first Wyoming white water adventure, and it was a blast! I was one of eight on the raft, and our guide Luke was amazing! The guy seemed to live and breathe rafting. We hit class one, two, and three rapids that seemed to lift us right out of the river! And what a river! The Snake River is awesome! Even if the thrill of shooting the rapids wasn’t enough, the scenery was unbelievable! Although I was drenched in river water, I got the opportunity to take a dip in the Snake! One note though, the rafting company is particular about what you wear. Although they have wet suits to rent, I decide to shell out a few bucks for one of their hooded shirts. After all, I may want to do this again someday.

Such a fun and exciting experience. We were a little nervous to begin but everyone made us feel comfortable. Danny was amazing. He made us feel very safe. We got to see river otters, a bald eagle, and an osprey. Highly recommend!!

What a great experience in mid-May! The scenery was beautiful, the rapids were fun and the guide was great! We were really worried that we were going to freeze as the temps were in the 40’s and the water in the 30’s and the forecast the night before called for snow and rain…but we were comfortable the entire trip, even the bus ride back. They provided heat to toe neoprene wet suits including jacket, cap, gloves and booties plus a hooded rain jacket. And the sun even unexpectedly showed up that morning! Everyone was super helpful and nice. There were 8 of us on the raft including the guide. Would definitely recommend!

We totally understand your concerns going in—temperatures in the 40s and a forecast of snow and rain can definitely make anyone nervous. Just a quick note: the river temperature around that time is actually about 43°F (still chilly, we know!). But as you experienced firsthand, it really is possible to be comfortable in those conditions with the right gear. That’s why we make sure every guest is fully outfitted—from head to toe—in high-quality neoprene wetsuits, jackets, gloves, booties, and rain protection. Staying warm and dry lets you focus on enjoying the adventure.

Amazing trip. The guide was entertaining, knowledgeable and fun to chat with. The bus ride was quick and the driver was amazing. The trip is not without a little extreme but overall pretty doable for everybody. So be ready to slide down some rapids.

This was our second time whitewater rafting, and we had an absolute blast. Our guide Brennan was great, and it was challenging enough without feeling unsafe at all. Saw plenty of bald eagles along the way, and a family of river otters. Would highly recommend this tour!

Trip started in rrain and fairly cold. We were apprehensive but it turned out to be great Ben was a terrific guide, fun, skilled and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend Ben and Lewis and clark.

Excellent company to book with. Each employee was attentive. We met the owner who was very accommodating in fixing a huge booking error Viator made that messed up our reservation. Viator failed……. this great company compensated for their mistajey. I’d use Lewis and Clark expeditions again but I’d booked directly despite the fact Viator tries to hide the outfitters names.

It had been a long time since I had been on the snake river, but Lewis & Clark made it a memorable experience. From the top of the line guide (Danny), to the flexibility of letting us follow the van so we could save an hour of drive time on out trip the experience was top notch. I was the oldest in the boat at 73 1/2 years old. The youngest was 9. No one had more fun than he and I. Ben the guide was great. Go in early June. Water be the highest and the fastest flow. Go for

Guide made the trip as exciting as water provided. I left wet and thrilled with the adventure. In May it was COLD and the outfitters fit us with wet suits that helped with the cold temps

What a fun time! We went in early May so the water was still pretty cold, but L&C had wetsuits available for us with all the extras! On our 8-mile trip, we saw bald eagles, marmots, and even a couple of river otters. Our guide, Ben, was extremely knowledgeable and so much fun to raft with. 10/10 - we would absolutely do it again.

Lewis and Clark Raft Company is first class. Viator is difficult to work with. Has poor communication. Uses overseas customer agents difficult to understand and lack ability to assist with problems

A great trip exciting and invigorating without feeling like it was dangerous. Great mix of rapids and calm water so that we could enjoy the scenery and wild life. Luke was an exceptional guide: fun, knowledgeable, extremely competent. A real adventure to remember.
