Overview

Located just 21 kilometers outside Iringa, Isimila is home to some of the world's most significant archaeological discoveries. Among the glorious landscape of eroded sandstone, Stone Age tools were unearthed in the late 1950's. Hammerstones, axeheads, flints and scrapers thought to be up to a hundred thousand years old were found.
