Itinerary

After pickup at your hotel in Fethiye, travel by air-conditioned coach to Ortaca, where you transfer to your river cruise.

The Dalyan river winds from Köyceğiz Lake to Turtle Beach (Iztuzu Beach). Cruise down the river and view 2,000-year-old Lycian tombs carved into the rock cliff face above the ancient harbor city of Kaunos. Founded around the 9th-century BC, Kaunos became an important Carian city around 400 BC, and the rock cut tombs were designated for the kings of Kaunos.

Upon arrival at Turtle Beach, have time to sunbathe, swim, and relax. The beach is closed to the public from May through September to protect the endangered loggerhead turtles.

Wrap up with a refreshing outdoor mud bath at Köyceğiz Lake before returning to your hotel in Fethiye.

What an amazing day out guide was the best you could ask for. The driver of the coach was so lovely he helped my 86 year old mum with her wheelie all the time . The same as out captain of the boat nothing was to much for them the camera man we had for the day was lovely and made us all laugh and his photos we a good price and fantastic. Would recommend this trip to everyone it was the best I have ever been on z

Late pick up, but fantastic tour of sights, friendly guides, light party atmosphere, substantial tasty food and well-paced day - highlights were the mudbaths and seeing massive turtles!

Fraud agent Tourmania damaging the credibility of actual local operators

Please note, this review is only for the operator named Tourmania who are mentioned as local operator in several Viator tours of Turkey (I booked 3) but they do not provide a single tour themselves. They always subcontract to other local operators who rather provide a good service but due to the horrible behaviour of Tourmania agents, do not get the ratings they deserve. I have reviewed the individual operators (Peron tours for Pamukkale Hierapolis trip, Seaside travels for Fethiye boat cruise and Ginza travels for Demre-Myra-St Nicholas trip) who actually provided the service through TripAdvisor. Now let me describe the behaviour of Tourmania (i already read bad reviews about them in Viator but chose to ignore them and paid a price) 1) regarding the Pamukkale-Hierapolis day trip, I booked it months in advance and chose my pickup location from the drop-down list of hotels. On the day before the trip, I kept on messaging Tourmania regarding pickup time and they always said they'll let me know shortly. Around 5pm, they send me a very rude message on WhatsApp stating they won't pick me up from my hotel and i have to go to another place, and if I am 5 minutes late, they will leave. I just asked them why they were waiting till the cancellation window is passed to realise that my hotel is not possible to pickup from and how come other group tours are picking/dropping me from the same hotel (I already booked 2 other day trips from Kusadasi). I get a very humiliating response from the agent named Yusuf that my English is poor hence I am not understanding his response!!! Having done my education in English and having worked 21+ years in UK and US, this was nothing but utter insult. Moreover, my English knowledge had nothing to do with my pickup location. I straightaway shared the screenshot of the chat to Viator support who as expected didn't bother. I also demanded to speak with a senior person from Tourmania but I believe Yusuf himself called me, pretending to be a senior "John" and tried to convince me to go to the pickup location without any apology whatsoever. I still took the tour in light of not spoiling my holiday and thankfully it turned out well because of the actual operator Peron and guide Eren. Funny thing, met an elderly couple from US in this tour who also booked this tour from Viator and faced similar situation of changed pickup location and rude behaviour 2) my next trip with Tourmania was at Fethiye - where the same guy Yusuf made a mess, making me wait on the roads for more than 1 hour. Again there were a group of 3 British ladies in the tour who also waited more than 1 hour thanks to the same issue! 3) my last tour with Tourmania was at Antalya - day trip to Demre-Myra-St Nicholas church. Actual operator was Ginza travels who sent an amateur girl (it was her first trip as a guide!!). Few minutes down the tour, she came to collect entrance fee of 30 Euro for St Nicholas church. My tour description of Viator mentioned Entry/Admission included, which I show to her and refuse to pay extra. But during the Kekova sunken city cruise (which by the way is a total waste of money, as there's nothing to see underwater, the ship zooms past and all you can see is a mountain top castle very far away on the coast), I got a call from same guy Yusuf who started yelling at me why I am not paying the extra money. He said it was mistakenly mentioned as included in Viator. He was so loud that people sitting next to me could hear his shout. I just disconnected the phone stating I don't wish to be humiliated and started chatting with Viator support. They confirmed repeatedly that it's included and they will process the refund later. But after I paid 20 Euro (the tour guide said it was her mistake to quote 30 Euro initially)... Oh.. the ticket price mentioned at the ticket counter was 17 Euro but i just ignored 3 Euro bonus that the girl scammed me for, Viator refused to refund stating tour operator has declined. In the end, I just wasted 20 Euro and also lost the chance to review Tourmania as Viator blocked me from reviewing. Long story short, this company Tourmania is a fraud and it's rather better to book directly with the actual operators.

Melissa the tour guide is fantastic. She told us great info about the places we visited. A very enthusiastic photographer that got some great pics. Great day. Lunch venue was questionable, very basic and looked shut down.

Great day out done this trip 5yrs ago still fab.icy was great photographer got the hump a bit when I said I don’t want too look at the photos as I did not want too buy any.very friendly before hand then practically ignoring us after wards.not that I was botherd too be fair but all round a great day out

Great day out - getting dirty

The mud baths and hot springs were the best part of the trip by far. Lots of fun and laughter getting messy! The sulphur stinks but you get used to it pretty quick. Lunch was pretty good and exceeded my expectations tbh. Long trip on boat to get to turtle beach. Sand was very hot so make sure you have good beach shoes. Warmest water I’ve even swum in. Don’t expect turtles - they only turn up after dark to lay their eggs.

Good way to spend a full day

We did this trip as a couple in 1997 and it hasn’t changed. We came back with our two grown up sons. A wonderful experience and we felt very looked after by our guide Icesi. A great way to spend a full day. Only reason it’s not a 5 star is the main coach had a lot of seats with broken or missing seatbelts
