Itinerary

Escape the city and journey into the rolling hillsides of Natal Midlands. You'll explore some 3000 hectares of the Tala Game Reserve eco estate and get an up close look at wildlife, bird and rare hippos. Embark on a closed-top safari through rugged bush and thorny acacia. Pass by wetlands and keep your eyes peeled for rare birds and wildlife.

Excellent trip! We had a terrific cheerful and knowledgeable guide. We saw many animals, including giraffes, zebras, blesbucks, wildebeests, impalas, kudus, nyalas, and rhinos. And I was surprised to see a few vervet monkeys and many ostriches.

Wonderful experience. Many animals up- close. Zebras, Rhinos, Ostriches, Deer, Giraffes, Hippos etc…….. The guide was exceptional providing commentary on environment and history of Durban. Worth every penny and more. Vehicle was clean, comfortable and provided AC.

Driver spoke excellent English. He was very knowledgeable about his country and the game preserve. he was patient in trying to locate animals in the game preserve. When we wanted to expand his time in the city, he made contact with his manager, had it approved. Wonderful driver--very safe..

Rennie was our guide for a fun filled day! We were late getting off the cruise ship but he was right there when we got off, got us loaded up and headed to Tala. Along the way he showed us various aspects of the city of Durban and some historical highlights. Once at Tala, he lead us through the reserve with tons of info about the different animals. He even took us on a side trip to see even more things. We really got a sense of his love for the city of Durban and greatly appreciated his sincerity.
