Organized and timely. Unfortunately, the ride back was a low note for us

Teresita_J, May 2025
The tour is well organized and locations are beautiful and interesting. Martha is an experienced and friendly tour guide. The taverna she recommended for lunch was okay, a bit of an overpriced tourist trap in my opinion with a bit of rude service. We travelled in with one boat and came back in another that was terribly overcrowded. The bus in the morning was cool and not terribly overcrowded. In the afternoon the return bus was 100% full and the driver kept cutting the AC since people upfront were cold while the rest of us in the back were dying without any ventilation. It was very hot. We complained and Martha had it turned back on but unfortunately cut it off again for the last 15-20 minutes of our ride. We were very disappointed since that showed a total disregard for the passengers who were baking. The ones that were cold could have closed the vents or switched to the back.

Nisyros Volcanic Crater

Graham_S, Sep 2023
Leaving the port of Kardemena we passed the Pumice mining Island of Gyaldi before arriving at Nisyros. Strolling with our guide Marta through the narrow streets of Mandraki, we pasted blue & white buidings adorned with flowers & with pebbled images on the floor. The Monastery of Panagia Spillani is reached via 270 steps. Entrance is 2 euro one of the highlights is the Icon to the Virgin Mary from 1400 AD. Take time to admire the wonderful panoramic views across the village. Lunch was under the big Ficus tree in the square before a coach journey to one of the largest hydrothermal craters in the world. Viewed from above we were impressed with the Lava formations & their Sulphur yellow colours. 3 euro gains you entry to the crater floor, where the air was filled with the smell of Sulphur (rotten eggs), beneath our feet the ground was spongey & at times it also felt like it was bubbling there is also thermal air billowing out of crater holes making us appreciate this sleeping giant, luckily this crater has not produced any seismic activity since 1998. A fantastic day out & a must do.

Be Aware

Mark_R, Aug 2023
Despite having written confirmation of pick up at our hotel, we received a message at 9.30pm the evening before saying we had to get to a pick up point 30 mins walk away for a 7.55 am pickup. No time to try and organise a taxi transfer. Despite moving the day of the trip to give us time to organise, it still cost us 15 euros in addition for the taxi. If you are staying in the area of Kos town, be prepared for an hour's transfer to the boat on a VERY cramped and hot bus, picking up people from hotels an equal distance from the main road that our hotel was. Nisyros is stunning. But only 40 mins allowed at the crater itself. You do not get much time after the long walk to the bottom to actually take it all in. Three hours then in Madaraki which is the main town in the island. Very pretty and welcoming. Very reasonably priced food and drink. Just be aware of the long transfers from the Kos town end of the island, which is not mentioned anywhere in the descriptions. A lot of traveling for not long enough at the volcano, which was the reason for us choosing this trip.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Kindly note that we have standard meeting points for the pick-up service of the tour in order to be convenient for all of our guests as it is operated in shared basis. We always strive to provide excellent client service for our clients, although on the day that you participated a last minute amendment came through because of an unexpected incident and we had to inform all the guests as soon as possible. We have sent a message as you mention as well the day before in order to announce the meeting point change. We continuously work to create good customer experiences, and we’re sorry to hear that we missed the mark here. We hope to see you again in one of our experiences in the future. MTM DMC Team.

Not a good day

pat_h, May 2023
There was,nt any as the coach never turned up for us, we waited nearly an hour for the bus. No show then finally got through to be told that pick up had been changed. Too late then. Waiting on a full refund.

A volcanic experience

Atanu_S, Aug 2022
Walking down into the crater and seeing some smoke coming out from little holes in the ground . Also loved The village of Amanda Raju, it’s cobbled street and beautiful houses

Durée de la traversée de...

Johanne_V, Oct 2023
