The tour guide didn't say anything of substance. The tour guide would describe how grand a stop was and imagine how it was in the day, but she didn't give any details about the building of the stop, history of the stop/neighborhood, or how historic preservation saved some of these stops on the tour. Two of the stops were significantly outside downtown Cape May, the Emlen Physick Estate and Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant. We walked to the Physick Estate but didn't have time to walk to the Peter Shields as it was a mile away from the estate. The walk to the estate was already a mile (one way) from the last point in the town part of Cape May. The tour description did not say that the tour was close to 3 MILES walking. And I am not sure how you could "do" a three mile walk tour in 2 hours if you want to get to see the neighborhoods you walk through. This is our first audio tour from Viator which fell flat on its face. The rating for the tour was poor (1.8) but we typically take ratings with a grain of salt. Obviously, this time we should have listened.

1. The meeting place was confusing.
2. Then I got a text from Matthew. He said: make sure phone is charged. The tour could begin using a highlighted address on my phone.
In other words, I could take this tour using my iPhone as my guide.
Needless to say I didn’t. It was supposed to be a private tour with the guide in a vehicle.
I called Viator and they told me that they would need to speak to the tour guide. I have not heard anything back from them. I want a refund of $40.00.

We love cape may, such a magical place that really warms your heart and the tour was the cherry on top. It’s fun to experience the town all over again.
