A popular spot for beginner and intermediate rafters, Bighorn Sheep Canyon is a relatively gentle stretch of the Arkansas River that winds through southern Colorado’s high desert landscape. Meet your friendly river guide at the Cañon City outpost, just southwest of Colorado Springs. Prepare for the ride by donning a life vest and helmet, and get an introduction to rafting essentials like safety and paddling techniques before transport to the launch site.
Set off on the currents and navigate through exciting Class II and II whitewater rapids like Five Points, Double Dip, and Spike Buck. Your guide helps with technique and ensure everyone's safety throughout the journey. On quieter stretches, enjoy the pristine desert scenery and look out for herds of wild bighorn sheep, the official state animal of Colorado.
Take advantage of the opportunity to swimming splash income river pools during breaks from the rapids. After reaching the end of the 10-mile stretch, you are transported back to the outpost, where you can purchase souvenir photos to memorialize your journey.
Come prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, and quick-drying clothes, as you're sure to get wet! No rafting experience is required, and children age six and over are welcome.

We had an amazing time rafting down Arkansas River in Canon City with Gigi as our guide. One of the best experiences we've had rafting as this was our first time rafting. Gigi and Matthew both were AMAZING along with our wonderful driver Tiffany. We will surely come back again to experience the rafting down the Royal Gorge next time.

Taylor was such a wealth of knowledge. He taught us the basics of white water rafting. During the slow parts he had a plethora of information about Bighorn Sheep Canyon. I appreciate having such a great guide along the way. We all had such a great time, I am thinking about going again next year.

It was our first time rafting we were 13 in group youngest 17 and oldest 78. It was so much fun and the guide Taylor was excellent he made everyone felt comfortable . I must say lost paddle is the very reliable small family company with best service. Will definately recommend my friends and family and will definitely come back. Great rafting trip for our family of beginners (ages 21-49)! There were enough rapids to experience the excitement and lots of calmer areas of the river to enjoy the trip. Our guide Chris was awesome in his instruction to get us through all the rapids successfully, and he was fun and entertaining throughout the trip. The pictures are totally worth getting too! We had a great time!

Our family members ranged in age from 10 to 76. Everyone agreed that this rafting trip was a major highlight on our trip to Colorado. Lost Paddle did a great job. Besides the obvious thrill of the rapids, especially for my 11 year-old grandson, who had never been rafting, it was jumping off the rock and floating down the river for a few hundred yards. Now he wants to raft every time he comes to Colorado.

This is the perfect rafting trip for first timers. We had a blast. Our guide, Nikki, kept our trip both exciting and safe. She brought our group to a place where we could jump into the current and let us ride it back to our rafts. So much fun!! Highly recommend this for anyone going rafting for the first time. It was exciting but had learning curve for safety.

Our guide, Andrew is a professional with a great sense of humor. With him you are guaranteed to have a good time. The owner Kelly drove us there and back and she was really friendly too. We had an incident where I lost my balance and fell in the water, but within seconds Andrew had me out of the water. I never once felt unsafe. I highly recommend the Lost Paddle's half day and full day rafting tours!

Working as a team in the raft for a common goal; the beauty of the canyon surrounding us, the challenge of the rapids and staying in the raft. Just the overall experience of being on the river and manuevering between the large rocks. It was fun and challenging but not too challenging. Just about right.

All of the guides were entertaining and nice and the trip was easy to book. This was our favorite activity during our trip to Colorado!
