Mahesh was a brilliant tour guide on this trip. He is equal parts knowledgeable and funny. We had an awesome and entertaining day and the scenery was breathtaking taking. He really looked after my gluten free diet too in catering snacks which meant a lot to me.

Mahesh aka Marshmallow was most entertaining with great informative stories. His bubbly personality just made everyone smile while we learned some amazing things about the places he took us
Highly recommended for a half day small group tour

This was an amazing experience. Our guide Mahesh got the group motivated. We quickly bonded becausecif him. We also had some personalities in the groups who are extroverts. That helped. I HIGHLY recommend this excursion.

An amazing and fun tour of the West MacDonnell Ranges, Stanley Chasm, ANZAC Hill, and Emily Gap! Stunning views and great experiences throughout. Mahesh was incredible—engaging, informative, and made sure we were never bored. Highly recommended! 🌄

Enjoyed the hike and learning about the area
Very scenic, beautiful landscapes
It was just too hot but still a great time
DAVID_A, Mar 2025
Descriptions very basic poor on information regarding the areas we visited
Driver/guide difficult to understand and we were the only tourists he had that day
Not value for money I am sad to say

We had a great half day tour with Mahesh. Our tour was funny as well as very informative. We had plenty of time to do the walks as well as capture memories with his help ( We have some great photos thanks Marshmallow! :-)) ) Mahesh also supplied some snacks & drinks mid tour. The group was small which made it easier to take in all the various places as well as information. Thanks for a great day

The whole experience was awesome. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely entertaining. We packed in plenty of sites but were never rushed, and the refreshments/nibbles were great. Both my wife and teenage daughter loved it as much as me. I highly recommend this tour.

We all love the beautiful scenery, the photos we took just like a post card.
Because we are in a small, it gives us plenty of times to walk around and take as many photos as we like. Our tour manager Mahesh is very professional, he has good sense of humour that add a lot of fun into our trip. This tour is worth for money and would recommend it to our friends.

We very much enjoyed the expert explanation and comfortable friendly excursion.

Guide is a great guy. Being small group means his personal attention and flexible time at places. Great knowledge and style of storey telling.
Very cooperative and good hospitality.

Once again late on pickup(20mins), you can’t tell customers an 8am pickup when you’ve told others at different hotels it’s an 8am pickup!!, had been on a previous tour and even though the guide didn’t know we had booked he had offered us a better deal for the next tour..we .were very taken back by this...anyway the places we went to were very picturesque..next time would do a self drive, would have been cheaper
Robert_M, Aug 2024
Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and went out of his way to ensure that we received value for money. Unfortunately bushfires on the day closed one section of the tour but he added other places to compensate for this.

Mahesh was a wonderful guide. Even though others had cancelled due to the publicity about the youth troubles in Alice Springs, he did not cancel the tour. Mahesh took us to all the key sites and was full of knowledge about the locations and history. He is from Sri Lanka and you can see him in the pics. He was always ready to stop if we wished to take a photo, if it was safe, or permitted. One surprise, was a morning snack with hot tea and nibbles.

It was fun to watch the camels trying to snatch food from the bushes as we passed by. The flies all over us made it a true outback Australian experience!

The coach driver was really funny and knowledgeable. Loved that we had more than enough time to explore on are own and the snacks was a lovely bonus

A great tour with a great guide. We did Anzac Hill, honeymoon gap, Simpson gap and Standley Chasm in 4 hours but it was very relaxed and not rushed at all. Even had time for a coffee and snacks provided for by the guide.
Stunning surroundings and plenty of opportunity to get some fantastic photos.
Take a fly net with you if doing this trip in the summer.
The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to answer all the questions the group had.
Definitely recommend this trip.

We were picked up by Alice Tours in our hotel lobby and our guide explained in detailed what the tour included. He then did a quick tour round the town and showed us a few historic buildings before heading into the West MacDonnell range. We first went to the Honeymoon Gap, then Simpsons Gap where we did a short walk to the spring. The countryside was stunning and we were extremely lucky to be completely on our own. Upon our return our guide had prepared tea, coffee and snacks for us. We finally went to Standley Chasm and had a short walk there. Again we walked through beautiful scenery with the cliff walls towering each side until we reached the chasm and water hole. We came to Alice Springs after having been at Uluru and Kata Tjuka but the scenery of the West Mac Donnell range was equally stunning.

Affectionately known as Marshmellow, our tour guide ensured we had a great time. Loved his bubbly personality and witty humour, and the way he told us the history of Alice Springs and the West MacDonnell Ranges. We had been to these spots before but was glad we'd chose a guided tour this time. Highly recommend this tour.

Sadly the weather was terrible! Not the tour’s fault! Very wet and cold! Hit a bad weekend. Guide was fine
Harry_P, Jul 2023
The guide affectionately known as Marshmellow was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed visiting Anzac Hill, Stanley Chasm and Simpson’s gap.

Thank you for your kind words. The participants are also a joyful and friendly group. I encouraged entertaining them, due to their supportive participation.
Carole_L, Jun 2023
I enjoyed the two short walks (about 50 minutes in total)very much but they were only a small portion of the half day trip.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
The TripAdvisor detail listing clearly shows the places we are visiting and only short walks involved. I think the visitors should carefully read where we take your travel time and what are the destinations we offer. We understand when you book your tour, you are already aware of there places we show and the time we allow you to do your walk. We have West Mac Full Day tours involve much walking. If you need you are most welcome to be in Central Australoia and continually walk. In addition to that in Central Australia, we have continuous walking tours up to 7 days also. This is a sight-seen tour in airconditioned comfortable bus for a small group. Once again, the TripAdvisor listing clearly shows the destinations and times. If you are happy and if you read those, then you are most welcome to book your "half day tour".

My family enjoyed the whole tour , The Tour Guide was very informative and kept us laughing the whole tour . Great day enjoyed immensely
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you for your nice words. The guide and the tour participants are great people who encourage us to perform our work in the best possible way. Have a great day, my friends.
Tara_W, May 2023
The driver was knowledgeable on the history of Australia and the town. We only had 3 people book for the day, much less than the van carried, so were quite happy to be on the small tour. He was not a native Australian and showed up 10 minutes late for pick up, but was enthusiastic and very nice. He made everyone feel welcome. His description of the histories and locations he took us to were great. His spread of snacks was unexpectedly thorough, very classy, and absolutely fantastic. His driving was a bit fast and aggressive for some people in the van, but I didn’t mind. Overall the trip was really enjoyable and would recommend.

A most enjoyable tour made so much more special by the the tour guide. Mahesh was very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and delivered information in an amusing way. He made sure we were very comfortable and was very attentive.

The guide Marshmallow was a hoot and the ranges spectacular. Sadly didn’t see any rock Wallabies. The coffee break picnic was great
