An Excellent Well Organised Morning of Discovery and Fun

Richard_A, Mar 2025
This tour worked really well for us as cruise ship passengers with an early afternoon departure. Tim was an excellent guide talking us through the local history and geology in an engaging, entertaining manner. The gap itself is spectacular and access to the site has been very cleverly designed with some interesting geological facts and a human interest story of a spectacular rescue. The old whaling station was interesting, some beautiful scrimshaw on display from a brilliant local artist. Also, having been on a cruise ship for a number of days, it was good to eat some proper scones with lashings of cream. Cruise ships just can't get the texture or size right, don't know why! Anyway this trip is well organised, clear joining instructions and represents excellent value for money. An enjoyable half day.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thanks Richard for a full and detailed summary of the experience. So good for cruise guests to appreciate the organisation and intent to deliver a seamless experience that wows! Yep, the scone rate well amongst our guests :)

Windy trip

Joan_W, Jan 2024
The tour guide Susan really knew her information, I just don't think she was in tune with our group. Lots of senior citizens and it was hard to keep up with her. She also allowed 2 people to monopolize her attention a lot. It was quite chilly with wicked winds and I think she did not take that into account. There were a lot of times where most of the group were back at the van waiting for her to unlock it.

Response from Host, May 2024

Our coastline is exposed to chilly winds from the Southern Ocean. They can be wicked! We take your feedback on board. Thank you.
