We love our tour guide. She explained places and history that went with the ruins. We decided to walk through from the top of the trail to the bottom and enjoyed seeing the ruins. The marble tiles were beautiful and we (2 in our 80's, 2 in their 40's and a 4 yr old) finished the trail with no mishaps!
We enjoyed seeing the Virgin Mary's house, eating local food, observed carpet weaving, etc.
Our guide was on time for the pickup, though we initially missed the meeting point. Once we met our guide was very informative and caring, as my wife had a back pain, modifying the route and pace to take account of this. It was an amazing experience which we recommend, especially as doing a private tour it can be tailored to suit particular needs. The only point to bear in mind is that the flagstones down the quite steep incline are very slippery. We saw several people fall over, and this was on a dry day it would be much worse if the slabs were wet. So be careful.

This day excursion was excellent! Our guide was so knowledgeable, friendly, and interesting throughout the day. Ephesus is site not to be missed!!! The only thing I would change is the lunch. It felt forced and I would have preferred to end the tour earlier so we could choose a restaurant on our own.

We really enjoyed our private tour to Ephesus and chose a private tour as we were travelling with our two year old and wanted to avoid unnecessary stops and waits like you may experience with a group. Specifically this tour was listed with the following description:

I have lowered my score and quoted this because we were brought to a carpet factory and leather shop which is not something we wanted. Though we were back at our ship well within the departure time so we weren’t stressed in that regard, it did drag the day on longer than we anticipated and was not was was advertised in this listing and what we specially chose so I have to mark it down for not being true to the description.
Our tour guide Melek was a kind and patient man, our son really liked him and I applaud his kindness and patience with him. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great tour of Ephesus, the temple of Artemis and Mary’s house.
Please consider this review as feedback on your description because the carpet and leather shops were not listed.
Though it’s said that there is no obligation to buy a carpet (which we didn’t) there is still a sales pitch and sense of pressure, in the leather shop we experienced an awkward fashion show and with just us three in attendance (so no other tour busses there to fill up seats), it should have been assumed that it was not appropriate for us and skipped.
I’m marking yes as recommended as it’s still good value in comparison to the cruise ship bookings but please consider this review when thinking of timing. 9:45-3:30 was longer than our anticipated 4 hours
I booked the private Ephesus tour for my party of 7 during a cruise, and highly recommend this tour as a great alternative to the pricey and busy excursions available through the cruise line. Our tour guide, Fatima, was incredibly warm and welcoming and made our first visit to Türkiye a very enjoyable one.

Our tour was informative and efficient! Only caveat was that we were taken to a Turkish rug location and leather store and subjected to sales pitches. Neither of these stops were included in the itinerary. Though informative, it felt deceptive that this was not mentioned in advance

Fatima was our tour guide and she customized our experience specifically for the needs of our group. We had one person in our group who had mobility challenges and Fatima was accommodating and respectful. Going to Ancient Ephesus was amazing. Her knowledge and expertise were vast. We went to learn how Turkish carpets were made and it was so interesting. We even got to try tying the knots.
We were able to eat with a local Turkish experience and she was so accommodating she even let us stop at a grocery store.

Our experience with Nilay was incredible. She is very passionate about her culture and wanted to make sure we had a wonderful experience. In the tour to Ephesus she had us try local food, coffee, art (Turkish rugs), and even fashion show. She is extremely knowledgeable and educated us on the history of Ephesus. Our guide, Fatima was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and helped us to not only enjoy the tour, but to open our eyes to the beauty of the local culture. We toured the religious sites and ancient city of Ephasus with a short stop at the temple of Artemis. A quick stop at a leather factory was interesting as well. Lunch was delicious at a local restaurant and everyone was so welcoming and kind. I highly recommend this tour, especially with Fatima.

I chose the "long version" of this tour based on the itinerary. There are no issues there.
It's what is NOT included in the itinerary that I have an issue with, and that was the carpet factory and leather shop. The carpet factory, although interesting, was the worst with a bunch of dudes relentlessly trying to sell you into buying a $10000 carpet. If you have no intention of buying a carpet, my advice would be to have look at the weavers, the silk harvesting process and the go back to the bus.
Other than that, we had an amazing tour guide - entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. I liked the way he explained the historical events through the ancient period.
Fatima was the most amazing guide! She was so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We learned so much while exploring the ancient city of Ephesus, and she made the history come alive in such a fun and engaging way. Her wonderful personality made the day feel like we were exploring with a friend rather than just taking a tour.
The fashion show was absolutely hilarious and added so much laughter to an already fantastic day!
Thank you, Fatima, for taking such great care of us and making our visit so memorable. We would highly recommend her and her company to anyone visiting Ephesus!

Visiting the ancient city of Ephesus was an unforgettable experience. Walking through its remarkably preserved streets, surrounded by such extraordinary history, made it easy to imagine what life must have been like there thousands of years ago. The scale and beauty of the site were truly amazing.
The visit to the Temple of Artemis and the House of the Virgin Mary added even more meaning to the day. While the Temple of Artemis is historically fascinating, it was a little disappointing to see how little remains of what was once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Even so, it was still special to stand at such an important historical site.
The House of the Virgin Mary had a very peaceful and moving atmosphere, making it a memorable contrast to the grandeur of Ephesus.
A special thank you to our guide, Ekrem, whose knowledge of every site was fantastic. He brought the history to life with his insight, enthusiasm, and clear explanations, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.
