What To Expect
Head to the Banff Gondola any time during its normal hours of operation to begin your ride. Climb inside a comfortable, modern, 4-person gondola cabin for the trip to the top of Sulphur Mountain. As your cabin ascends high above this mountain paradise, admire bird’s eye views of Banff’s alpine scenery and meandering rivers, arriving at the summit of Sulphur Mountain.
While on top, feel free to explore the boardwalk leading to Sanson’s Peak, a national historic site, or just sit back, relax and enjoy the view. After your allotted time at the top, simply grab your assigned gondola back down to the base of the mountain.

The gondola ride is a bit pricey but loved the Sky Bistro, boardwalk/hike with the beautiful scenery.
Better than expected. Restaurant was really good. Fun activities. Enjoyed the experience. Was really fun.

We enjoyed our experience going up in the Gondola, and were awed by the views! We didnt go into the restaurants, but we ventured into the Gift Shop. If I had to say one thing, souvenirs about Canada should be MADE IN CANADA. We saw a few things that were made in the USA which we would not touch. And, I thought the prices were high.
Beautiful scenery. Not a long wait in lines as they move quickly. The "stair hike" to the very top was not as bad as expected! Worth the climb.
We were in Canada, called for price, they said it should be around &280.00. Turned out it was almost $400.00. Called someone at Viator, he was going to research this, and call back within 48 hours!! No one has called back. Very disappointed in our service..
It’s amazing views are beautiful. The ride up was great . Would have been nice to have a drink at the top but they ran out so maybe a little bit better stocked
The ride was great. The views from the top were amazing. We took the extra walk on the walkway and it was well worth the effort. We ate at the restaurant, and was a bit pricey but the food was AMAZING.
Well run team but weather can definitely put a damper on the views. When the clouds break it’s great .
It was fun to ride the gondola up the steep hillside to the top of the mountain! The view from the top was quite awesome! Dress warmly - it’s cold on the mountain top!
This was an excellent trip from Banff centre. Free bus to get there and what a view when you get to the top.

More than we could have imagined! We had the best time! Everything ran so smoothly and we were able to take stops at benches a few times to sit and enjoy the views. I do imagine it would be a bit more hectic in peak times but we did end of September and it was great!
Breathtaking views, well organized, and a lovely experience overall. We got some excellent coffee at the top and we walked the boardwalk all the way to the observatory. The boardwalk steps were not too challenging, even though we increase our elevation. It didn’t feel strenuous. Definitely worth the effort to go all the way to the top.
There are queues but they are well managed.You are not guaranteed your position on the gondola.The views are spectular
Our driver left without us even though I asked him if we were on his bus, and he said no. I called and had to wait for a call back and we were able to reschedule a trip later in the day, but that put us off schedule on a few other items. Also, when I booked it said 30% off and I started to book, then it said we had extra money so I put that in and it washed away the 30% discount. The only thing that kept this from being a 1 star rating is our Driver Frank from Banff to Lake Louise. VERY DISAPPOINTED with Viator even though we have used them successfully previously. We caught a public shuttle from the Banff train station to the Gondola lift station. We enjoyed the Gondola ride up to the top where we had lunch and drinks. The views were amazing ! Thanks so much, everything was perfect !
Hope for good weather because it is beautiful up there. We used roam bus to get to sulfur mountain and back. I paid ahead through Viator for the tickets for the gondola. Above the clouds it was clear and sunny.

Got to parking lot around 5:30 and had no trouble finding parking space. Also ate at Northern Lights which was great with awesome views
Saved money going through Viator rather than direct. Just be aware the Viator voucher is not your ticket. You have to go to the front desk and have them print the actual tickets. No big deal just wasn’t clear.
This is an excellent experience. The views at top of the gondola are amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Ram was great. He contacted us the day before to introduce himself and let us now where he would be and what time he would collect us. He was friendly and efficient. We saw lots and nothing was too much trouble. There were only ten of us and the small group worked well

Be patient - the lines move very quickly. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the views are spectacular!
This was a beautiful experience. The gondola was smooth and gave you a panoramic view of the city of Banff and the surrounding areas. There was also a nice restaurant and a bar also and a viewing area. You could also hike a little higher to the top of the hill next-door for a really fabulous view of the sunset.
Lines weren’t long. They went fast. Super friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful views you won’t regret!
Staff were very helpful in letting us board early; great facility and the bus service on the #1 line was extremely convenient.
Beautiful sunny day was the perfect backdrop to a most perfect time spent at the top of the mountain!
We went at a very busy time (5:30p on a Saturday…) so lines were long. Staff were very friendly. Could go at 7 and get a sunset experience that would see fewer crowds. We enjoyed a cocktail up at sky bistro. We did the whole walk way and enjoyed all the views. Reserve a table at sky bistro well in advance (probably a month in advance) it will be worth it.
