What are people saying about Vik

Stellar Experience
Really great hike with stellar views. It is not for the weak. We had a few people tap out half way. I think they would have been fine had they hung in there, but it is a very long hike. My advice would be do a lot of walking before you visit and you will be fine. The hikes probably a little over 10 miles total. Our guide was Lucas and he was great. He kept a nice slow pace so everyone could keep up and was very knowlegable about the glacier. I can't wait to come back again.

Don’t skip this experience!
This experience was great! Alex was our guide - he was personable and we really appreciated his knowledge. It was more than just a cave tour. The bus made a few stops for incredible scenery pics. The meeting point was easy to find with plenty of parking and a restroom close by if needed.

A must-do in Iceland!
We LOVED the tour. It was so mind blowingly cool to see, touch, and taste the glacier ice - though heartbreaking to hear how it’s changing every day due to climate change. Such a unique experience - we’re glad we picked this for our trip to Iceland. Gabriella “Gabi” was a fantastic and super knowledgeable guide.

Recommended Hike Tour
I went on an early 0900 hike. It was the only time slot open but honestly it worked out so well. The tour guide takes you in a beautiful hike to the glacier. The hike is beautiful where you get to experience valleys full of moss and berries, creeks and waterfalls. After we made it to the glacier and our tour guide named Ekla was such a great leader, adventurer, full of enthusiasm and just overall made the experience so amazing. From tips on how to walk with crampons, to taking us far into the glacier hike, to giving us information about Iceland and its history, it was just so good!! Highly recommend early hike because when our group was heading back there were a lot of people in the trail and glacier

Vik may not have an exciting name—it just translates to “bay” in Icelandic—but this town on the southern tip of Iceland is anything but boring. Sign a waiver, and within minutes, Vik tours will have you riding in a buggy along the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, exploring an ice cave under Katla Volcano, or snowmobiling above it on Mýrdalsjökull, the country’s fourth-largest glacier. Ziplining, paragliding, and kayaking (in a glacial lagoon) are all options if you go with a guide.
