What are people saying about Takayama

Great driver, very easy, would recommend
The transfer was very straightforward, and very easy. A few things to note: - In takayama, the bus leaves from the west exit station coach/car park. Make sure you head to that car park rather than the main station entrance.! - seats on the bus are pre-allocated, so don’t worry about being at the back of a queue when they’re getting on - we spent about 2 1/2 hours in Shirakawa-go, a perfect amount of time to explore, and grab a refreshment (there are lots of cafes and shops) Overall, a very comfortable way to travel, and get your large suitcases from one city to the next..

Best tour in Shirakawa
An incredible experience from beginning to end. The tour departed directly from Takayama by bus and included visits to both Ainokura and Shirakawa go, which made the day very convenient and complete. Both villages were beautiful, and visiting them together gave us a much better understanding of the region and its traditional architecture. Our guide was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire tour. Everything was well organized, and we truly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended!

Authentic hospitality and unforgettable experiences
Hisa warmly welcomed us to her gracious historic home and introduced us to her friendly childhood friend from elementary school school. The two taught us how to make traditional delicious dishes in a manners that was authentic, informative and lighthearted. The meal was wonderful and Hisa kindly showed us all around her beautiful house and the Ob Gyn clinic where her father and grandfather delivered over 6000 babies. Everything we learned and saw was full of meaning and beauty,

The best tour guide!
We enjoyed this tour thoroughly. The journey was scenic and the sites themselves were breathtaking! The true gem of the trip however, was our tour guide - Mykasa (forgive my misspelling please). He was incredibly kind, patient, helpful and so informative. We got a balanced mix of information on the history and geography of Takayama/The Alps as well as some tips on the culinary scene. He even helped us to see some monkeys and had us dropped right to our hotel. My wife couldn’t stop raving about how amazing he was and how much she loved his stories. Thank you for a wonderful time, Mykasa! We highly recommend you.
