After the break, we continue the tour via asphalt over the Visočica mountain to the Boračko lake, the mountain-eye of Herzegovina. Lunch is organized in a restaurant by the river Neretva. The tour lasts 7 hours, depending on the driving tempo. Overnight stay and dinner are organized at the Boračko lake. All necessary equipment for the mountain-biking tour is provided (mountain bike, helmet, backpack and a water bottle). The drive from Sarajevo to Srebrenica is approximately 2 and a half hours. We will visit Srebrenica Memorial Center and the city of Srebrenica. Srebrenica genocide was the massacre which happened in July 1995 in which more than 8000 Bosniaks, mostly men, but women and children as well, who lived in and around Srebrenica, were killed. The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia declared that the massacre in Srebrenica was a genocide. Potočari, a small place near Srebrenica, was declared a safe zone by the Dutch UN units. However, Bosnian Serb units overran the protection zone and went on to massacre over 8000 Bosniaks. There is video footage from that period, played in the Memorial Center, which shows executions. The victims were buried in mass graves, and to this day, many victims are still not identified nor found. Memorial was officially opened by the former US President Bill Clinton in September 2003. That same year in March, the first 600 victims were identified.

Wow! This is THE tour!

We saw SO much on our transfer from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik! This was the ultimate way to get from one city to the other and see a ton of sights. Loved Mostar and all of the other shorter stops. September was a great time for this, because many places were not too crowded. Highly recommend doing the transfer if you want to avoid yet another day at the airport and see quite a lot of the country south of Sarajevo! Plan on a full day of touring.

An unforgettable tour with Mak — worth far more than five stars

We had heard so many great things about Mak that I specifically requested him as our guide and even rearranged our schedule to make it work — and I’m very glad we did. Mak was absolutely fantastic: friendly, humorous, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and very accommodating. With his background in international relations, he has an impressive depth of knowledge about Sarajevo, the war, and the wider historical and political context. We asked him countless questions throughout the tour, and he was always happy to answer them in detail. What made this tour most special, however, was Mak’s willingness to share his own personal stories and his family’s experiences during the war. Hearing history through the experiences of someone who actually lived through it brought everything to life in a way that no museum or history book could. Those personal stories were invaluable and were by far the part of the tour we appreciated most. This was easily one of the most memorable and impressive tours of our entire trip. Mak is an exceptional guide, and if I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would.

The tour involves about...

The tour involves about 2.5 hours hike each way. The views are amazing views and the animals along the way in which we also had a donkey joining us on the end! We have went the same way back as we went to the village however reading the other reviews it does seem there was a circular route available however we were not told about it nor given as an option so it would be good for consistency as would have been interested in the circular route.

Great way to get to Belgrade from Sarajevo

Had a great day transfer from Sarajevo to Belgrade.. Stopped along the way at many interesting places. Our tour guide Jasmin was wonderful and along the way we learned a lot about history and geography. I didn't care for the 45 minute train ride..Don't see anything other than trees. Otherwise everything else was great.

Outstanding trip!

This is a very moving tour but essential to do to really appreciate the horrors of the Balkan war. Evin was a great guide with so much information and talked us through everything with impartiality and clarity. It was very interesting to see the Tunnel and sniper alley as they were things you normally just see on TV.

It was such a great trip...

It was such a great trip with Meet Bosnia Tours to see many sights without feeling to be rushed, having time to explore individually while given interesting insights by the guide before and at every stop. Our guide Christian was amazing: knowledgeable, friendly, perfect English, taking care of everyone and ensuring instructions about timings and meeting points were clear so we would stay on schedule despite being a bigger group. The bus was big, comfortable and offered beautiful views along the road. All in all would definitely recommend!

I had such a great...

I had such a great experience on this day trip. Our guide was amazing and super friendly and spoke excellent English. We were very well taken care of every step of the way. The locations we visited were incredible and we were shown the best photo spots throughout the day. Lunch was also included which was great. The van was modern, spacious and comfortable with great air conditioning (much needed in the heat!) I would highly recommend this trip - it really was the highlight of my visit to Bosnia, thank you very much.

Amazing tour

Amazing tour, one of the best tours we’ve ever done. Our guide Adnan did a great job. He explained some of the history and politics of Bosnia & told us about his experience of the war. We did this tour on our first full day in Bosnia and it gave us a really good understanding of the place. Strongly recommend this tour.

Definitely a must do Tour!

It was absolutely amazing! I was a little tentative about it being such a long tour, but it didn’t feel like it at all. Stefan, the tour guide, was so knowledgeable about everything we saw and was funny and gave great history and was very attentive. I have traveled the world and often don’t do tours because they end up being boring or feel long. But this was not the case. All the stops are very well thought out and besides the heat, which they cannot control, I really enjoyed it. I saw really beautiful things, learn, learned a lot, and had a really fun time. The vehicle had great air-conditioning and the driver was really friendly and also shared some historical tidbits.

Great tour and Opportunity to see a bit of Serbia

Kristijan was a wonderful guide. The Mehmed Pasa Sokolovic Birdge was impressuve to see in the morning fog and the mountains in the background. The highlight was the Train ride from Sargan Eight. We took the tour on the 3rd of January as the days before it is closed due to New Years celeb. And we were lucky that it started snowing so we got an amazing train ride in the snow. I would recommend it to other people who would like to see a bridge that was mentioned by a literature nobel prize winner and want to spend a daytrip in Serbia
