Frankfurt Main Tower Tours and Tickets

Q: How much does it cost to visit the Frankfurt Main Tower in 2026?

Adult tickets cost €9, with a reduced rate of €6 for children, students, and seniors. A family ticket (two adults plus up to three kids ages 6–12) runs €20, and children under 6 enter for free. Frankfurt Card holders get 20% off single adult tickets. Adult tickets can be bought online, and any type of ticket can be bought at the box office.

Q: How tall is the Main Tower, and how high is the observation deck?

Main Tower rises 656 feet (200 meters) to its roofline—240 meters if you include the antenna spire—making it both Frankfurt and Germany’s fourth-tallest building. The open-air viewing platform sits on the 56th floor at 613 feet (187 meters) in the sky, offering fabulous panoramic views of the city and the River Main below.

Q: Is the Main Tower open in bad weather?

It depends on the weather in question; the open-air platform can close temporarily during strong wind or rain for safety reasons. When that happens, visitors can still access the enclosed viewing area on the floor below (the 55th floor) at a discounted €4 ticket. It's worth checking current conditions on the Main Tower's website before heading over.

Q: What can you see from the Main Tower observation deck?

The Main Tower’s 360-degree platform overlooks Frankfurt's skyscraper-studded banking district, plus more historic landmarks such as the Frankfurt Cathedral and Old Opera House, not to mention the Main River winding through the city. On clear days, views stretch to the Taunus hills and across much of the surrounding Rhine region.

Q: Do I need to book tickets in advance for the Main Tower?

There’s no real reason to book tickets in advance. While adult tickets are available online, other types of tickets, including kids’ tickets, must be bought onsite. What’s more, all tickets are open-dated rather than tied to a specific time slot, and advance tickets don't grant priority access—you might still encounter a wait, even if you bought in advance.
