What are people saying about Generalife Gardens

Tour exceeded expectations
This was a great tour, taking in the full complex including the beautiful Generalife gardens and the stunning Nasrid Palaces. Ricardo was an engaging tour guide, moving us through the sights smoothly without feeling hurried. A good balance of history and local culture. The complex is spectacular and exceeded expectations.

Alhambra small group tour
The small group tour of the Alhambra Granada was definitely worth the money. Georgia who led our group was very interesting and knowledgeable. The Nasrid Palaces in particular were amazing and the General Life Gardens were beautiful and welcomely cool in the heat. Unfortunately we visited just after an earthquake and the fortress was closed for safety reasons as well as a couple of rooms within the palaces however this did not spoil our enjoyment of the afternoon. Highly recommend

Great Guide
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There's a lot of walking. Might want to do some background research since the history is complex.

Great tour for the historically and intellectually curious!
This tour was very nice and we gor a lot of detail throughout the palace and gardens from our guide Abubakr, who was excellent. From religious explanations and historical facts to stories of Life in the 13th century when the Alhambra construction was started, through to the 19th century. I had not realized that the reason the Alhambra stands today is primarily due to Washington Irving, who was an ambassador to Spain! I highly recommend this tour to the intellectually and historically curious!

Generalife Gardens
  • The Generalife Gardens are a must-visit for all first-time visitors to Granada.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to do quite a bit of walking.

  • Don’t forget to bring sun protection, as southern Spain can get very hot.

  • Strollers are not permitted on the grounds of the Generalife, so plan to bring a baby carrier if needed.

  • The Generalife Gardens are mostly wheelchair accessible, and there are modified tours that cater to—and include—wheelchairs.
