Be patient, it’s amazing!

I titled the review “be patient” because at first I was admittedly nervous at the start of the trip. We took an hour drive with very little educational talk about Portugal, the city we were heading to, or driving through. However, when we got to the few stops before the boat tour, Sebastian was very informative and cared a lot about what he was telling you. He also gave suggestions for other things to see, and how to best take advantage of the free time. The boat tour was amazing! Definitely book the early tour because the tides and waves can change so frequently that shortly after our boat got back they had closed the waters for the remainder of the day. Sebastian also took photos of us and our group to share with us for different view points on what we were experiencing. All around we were very happy with Sebastian and his tour!

We found this bird-watching tour very good for the interested beginner. Ria Formosa has a lot of biodiversity, and our passionate guide was very good at spotting specific birds. A bit of background on the nature reserve or some of the spotted bird species would have made the tour even nicer, but we enjoyed it a lot none the less!

Good way to visit the islands

The pair of crew members were very nice and friendly but they did not speak Spanish very well. The boat was very good but it was missing life jackets, but it was resolved. We left a little later than the scheduled time. In general, the tour is recommended

Amazing Day!

We had an amazing day visiting Marinha Beach, Benagil Cave, and Carvoeiro! João was absolutely incredible and hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was so personable, fun, and knowledgable about everything we were doing and seeing. The entire day went smoothly, and he made the experience so much fun from start to finish. I especially enjoyed our lunch break in Carvoeiro and having time to walk around and explore the town. João was fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re booking this experience, definitely ask for João!

Amazing Olive Factory Tour, highly recommend. The tour is presented by the employees that are passionate about olives and were a lot of fun. They have a tasting afterwards where they had numerous olives, cheese, meet and all the various sauces they make along with some refreshments that go well with olives. The tour was very informative about olives and their process. You are able to stop by and purchase olives, go in their little shop and also have a drink. It was a great experience and we would recommend it.

An experience not to be missed at the Ria Formosa!

We took the 3-island tour with Estrela da Ria Formosa and it was undoubtedly a very beautiful experience! The landscape of the natural park is fascinating, but what made the day truly perfect was our skipper Pedro. Pedro is a super competent skipper, extremely knowledgeable about the local fauna and history, but above all friendly and with a sense of humor; the atmosphere on board was relaxing and fun. The tour is organized to perfection, the stop times on the islands are ideal, and sailing with such an attentive and passionate guide really makes the difference. I recommend this excursion to everyone, and if you can, ask for Pedro. Very well-deserved five stars!

Worthwhile excursion

The beautiful boat trip was a complete success and offered plenty of variety. The boat captain André did an outstanding job; he was very friendly and dedicated, and his explanations were extremely interesting and informative – even for me, although I have now been living in Portugal for exactly three years. I occasionally have visitors from Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, and such an excursion would be a great option for my guests. Thank you very much for the boat trip.

Wine Tasting experience

Brilliant experience. Cody (driver) was super at pointing out different spots/areas on the way to & from the experience. The almond alcohol beverage was amazing that he provided. The wine tour itself was brilliant. The owner is a wealth of knowledge. Her wines are fantastic, we got to try 5 of them and each one was super. Personally I wouldn’t drink a red wine, but after sampling the wines they have created., I’ll definitely be more open to trying more.

Quiet cruise with energy and humor from the guide

What a nice quiet boat trip. Just silence when you sail. No engines on. The guide was a young girl with a lot of energy and humor. She was a local. I envy her/it the people/birds/ecosystem that tourists can choose for eco boats/holidays!! Birds were visible! Oysters and mussels and crayfish too. 🌞

Book to see the real Portugal 🇵🇹

I booked this trip through Viator, my daughter & I wanted to explore some of the countryside in the evening. 🇵🇹☀️. We met our driver close to our hotel which was excellent !✨He was very friendly & funny from start to end! He gave us lots of information along the way!✨ The Algarve is beautiful! We passed through a few villages, and our first stop was at a farm. We got to see peacocks, ducks, geese, chickens, goats, a pig & horse! 🦚🦆🐓🐐🐖🐴 We also got to taste honey, jams & ‘fire water’. So many drops are growing on this farm, it was really lovely. 🌱🌳🌶️ Our second stop was at a ‘custard pie factory’, but due to the time of our trip they’d sold out! 🤩 We had lemon meringue pie & cake which was so good.🍰🍥 Our next stop was at the ‘“Queda de agua do vigario” waterfall! 🌱💦 There are many steps down, but so worth it! Beautiful. Finally we went up into the mountains to watch the sun set at Messines. 🌅 Here you have 360 degrees view of the surrounding countryside! The sunset spot itself is beautiful! I definitely recommend you go on this trip, it’s super good value for money & I feel you get to see the ‘real’ Portugal, a must see! ❤️🇵🇹
