Top Crete Day Trips

We had a lovely day at the beach. Linda provided clear details of the day as well as helpful information along the way to pass the time as we drove. We rented beds at the beach for 20€ so we did not use the complimentary umbrellas offered as part of the tour, but saw several other guests did. As we were such a large group, the wine & honey tasting was kind of disorganized as anyone could choose or do it or not, and it was a self-serve tasting. It was very tasty and we had just the right amount of time for a coffee and pastry, bathroom break, and shopping before continuing on. We did not stop anywhere where there was a cave (or maybe I missed that explanation?) but our goal was the beach anyway. It was shallow, not windy, comfortable temperature, and there was indeed some pink sand throughout. It was like a Caribbean beach with some pink sand washing up in some areas. Overall a great day.

Our Private Full-Day East Crete Tour from Heraklion was one of the highlights of our trip to Crete! My husband, our friends, and I had such an incredible day exploring East Crete, and the experience was even better than we could have imagined. Traveling with our friends made it even more fun, and we came away with so many wonderful memories and plenty of laughs. What stood out the most was how well we were taken care of. The attention to detail, hospitality, and genuine care throughout the day made us feel comfortable and welcomed from start to finish. If you’re visiting Crete, I highly recommend this tour! It was an unforgettable day filled with beautiful places, fascinating history, great company, and memories that my husband, our friends, and I will talk about for years to come. We are so grateful for such a wonderful experience!

Our guide was Nikos and he made this a very seamless experience. Started off with a shuttle to the top, stopped at a nice cafe/tavern, and hiked for about 10-11miles before reaching the beach. We took our time and had plenty of time to relax and have fun by the beach. Would recommend wearing at least a thick sole shoe as it is really rocky and unstable grounds.

What a great day! Yannis was such a wonderful guide and shared so much information about our destinations and Greece. He made it very interactive and fun. The food was delicious at Milia Mountain Retreat and we completed the trip with a little honey sampling.

We had a fabulous day touring Balos Lagoon and Falassarna Beach! Our tour guide, Nicholas, was absolutely amazing—super friendly, funny, and incredibly accommodating. He made sure everything was arranged perfectly, from the rental of our sunbeds to an amazing lunch. Nicholas was also an expert driver, especially navigating the rough terrain, which made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. Everything was seamless, enjoyable, and so well organized. This tour was fantastic and greatly exceeded our expectations. Kostas was friendly, knowledgeable, and humorous which is what made the trip so great. We learned so much about Cretan culture, mythology, and the food! Kostas took us to the best restaurant we visited in our 11 days in Greece (which included Athens and Santorini). We highly recommend this tour!

This was the most fantastic experience. From start to finish with our wonderful guide to the family that greeted us when we arrived this far exceeded our expectations. Very informative, from the family history to the history of Crete and on to the wonderful food that we prepared with the help and guidance of the wonderful Maria. So much food and wine. Would recommend this 100 percent.

It was an amazing day, Unlike many comments, there were not many looks, the bus transfer was not too long and pleasant, with air conditioning, the guides' explanations were very interesting, and we were given plenty of free time at each location, it was a wonderful day.
