Genocide Museum (S-21 )served as the central hub of a vast prison system throughout the country and was used throughout the period as a secret facility for the detention, interrogation, torture and extermination of those deemed “political enemies” of the regime. Due to a policy of guilt-by-association, at times whole families were detained at the center. Very few inmates were released out of the prison during the years 1975 and 1979. Only 12 former inmates survived the opening of S-21 when Phnom Penh was liberated. Four of them were children. Killing Field between 1975 and 1979 by the Khmer Rouge in perpetrating the Cambodian genocide. Situated about 17 kilometres (11 mi) south of the city centre, it was attached to the Tuol Sleng detention centre. The bodies of 8,895 victims were exhumed from the site after the fall of the khmere Rouge, who would have been executed there—typically with pickaxes to conserve bullets—before being buried in mass graves.

Throughout its history, Vietnam has also stood at the crossroads of conflicts between East and West, shaped by events such as World War II, the Cold War, and the China–Soviet split. Therefore, learning about Vietnamese history also helps you discover an important part of the course of world history. On this tour, you will uncover hidden yet fascinating stories that remain little known—even among many Vietnamese themselves. You will embark on a historical journey that is both sorrowful and heroic, yet deeply engaging, visiting sites where major events truly took place. What truly awakens in Japan after the sun sets? Streets pulse with neon, where giant posters of men and women—uncanny, celebrity-like—watch silently, and the city hums with a hidden anime-tinged subculture. What is a financial Shinkansen, and why has it become a lifeline in the night economy? Is it true that 1 in 4 Japanese women have worked as hostesses, offering conversation, attention, and companionship for a price? What are the “attention chambers”, and which proxies and traps ensnare the unwary in the shadowed web of the night industry? [ Consideration ] If you’re not comfortable exploring the darker side—and prefer to stay with the blue pill—this tour isn’t for you. [ Notice ] This tour is completely private, meaning it will be only the travelers in your booking—no one else will join.

Already been to Sensoji and Zojoji? Have a love of history? This guided tour explores a pocket of the city once feared and avoided—where execution grounds, unclaimed graves, and grim legends shaped local history. We begin where a towering Jizō statue silently marks the site of Edo-period executions. Here you’ll hear chilling stories of executioners and the notorious figures who now rest nearby. Once nicknamed the “Temple of Thrown-In Bodies“ for centuries, next was the final resting place for those cast aside by society—from Yoshiwara’s abandoned courtesans to today’s unclaimed dead. We will also visit a quiet neighborhood shrine with a cafe on site to take a look at a local shrine. Drawing on years of research, this tour uncovers forgotten details and little-known stories, weaving together storytelling with cultural insights.
